Gas after csect?

I had a csect last Friday, so almost 10 days ago. In the hospital I had some pretty serious gas and gas pains. It's more in my upper belly, right under my ribs. I was ok for a few days and now it seems that it is back. It doesn't seem to be moving out, I've tried Mylanta and Gas-X but they didn't seem to help. Any ideas or suggestions?

My experience-after my last c-sect, I woke up seven days later looking like I was 7 months pg again. I, too, thought it was gas. I went to the clinic and saw the woman who did my surgery. Right away, she knew it was an infection. I know I will mess it up if I try to spell it, but apparently it is quite common for c-section patients. It's an infection in the uterus.

I would suggest seeing your surgeon or doctor right away. Surgery is not easy on the body.

I had a lot of gas & pain after my section and what worked best for me was moving. I shuffled all around the house and the neighborhood and that seemed to clear things out.
