Yes ladies, we've filled up a whole 12 pages. Who said that we do nothing but lounge in the sun here? :)

SDMummy, the drum class will be fine. It's geared toward small and smaller, and I've seen kids Gabe's age there. It's pretty noisy, but if he's okay with that, there shouldn't be a problem. Aside from the drums, there are little rattles and stuff, and it's not very organized.

Julie, that's odd that the teacher didn't show up twice. As far as I know, it's a very consistent class.

I don't know about the zoo either. Audrey has been sniffling, and I don't want her to infect anybody. Also, we're going out of town for two weeks on Saturday, and we're pretty busy till then, getting ready and stuff. Maybe hold off?

Then again, that would mean I wouldn't see you all TILL NEXT YEAR!!

Someone tell me again when the drum class is. I sould just go back and look ,but this is easier:D Lucy, what do you think about the zoo tomorrow? LMK and we can make a plan. YOu said Gabe has a sniffle too. Sorry that Audry is sniffling, Simone. I guess we will see you next year!

Hi Bubbles- yes, I think Gabe may have a cold. I blame the horrible weather! He is sniffly and grouchy and his nose won't stop running! So maybe ew could hold off form the zoo until after Christmas? I am going to Nebraska on Sat (lucky me) for one week, but I hope to see you all when I get back! And Bubbles, I have a ticket for you (zoo) that I will hold onto. Happy Holidays!

Yep, we're home. I've seen more rain in two weeks than I have in 5 years in SD, and that's why it's nice to be back even though it's a bit hot and all :)

And I noticed that this thread almost went to page 2 of the forum! Which means, I think, that it's about time we took up our chats here again ~ even if it's just to keep Lucy from becoming the second SD regular in the dental forum LOL

So, who's up for the park or the zoo or the beach? And when?

rsps
01-05-2003, 03:43 PM
We're pretty free for the next couple of weeks Until DH goes back to work. Mondays and Fridays aren't good, but any other time is fine.

We're going to the playground next to the World Beat Ctr in Balboa Park (the big playgorund with the dinosaur structures and lots of slides) this Tuesday around 3 pm.

Anybody wanna join? This playground is also good for bigger kids like Rebecca's boys and my dh :D

rsps
01-13-2003, 02:21 PM
I'm not sure if dh has plans (he's on vacation) if not we'll try to come by after Peter's nap (he usually wakes up around 3)

Rebecca

bubbles
01-13-2003, 02:58 PM
It all depends upon the nap schedule. Miles *usually* naps around that time, but sometimes it is earlier. We will try!

:wave

Hi everybody!!!

Hey, Rebecca, funny you talked to dh (Jeff) last week at the park, and I think Audrey played with your boys, but I was lounging at home....

Tomorrow, dh and dd are going to the park at World Beat Ctr again. I'm getting the afternoons by myself at home now, so I can take it easy :) :)

But, I also wanna see some mamas! Lucy, you said you wanna meet WEd or Thu? HOw about Thu in the Trolley Park? Sybil, you coming too? Anybody else? Or people rather meet somewhere else? I'm game!!

Then one more thing:

We're moving to Oregon, and are now thinking about moving March 1st, so we have one more month here. WE live in a very nice, roomy, 2br 1bath apt smack in the middle of Hillcrest/Univ Heights (5 min walk from Trader Joe, 10 mins from Henry and Whole Foods). We pay $770, and the rent is very unlikely to go up b/c the landlady has enough money and doesn't want high turnover. Now, when we moved in 4 yrs ago, we painted the whole apt. When we move, the managers will have to repaint, which they don't like to do. So, if we find somebody who wants to repaint themselves or keep the current paint (it's nice, orange-tan with dark-pink in one room and orange-tan with blue in two others), I'm pretty sure you'd be in. If anyone here is interested, let me know! It's one heck of a deal, and I'd rather have some nice mdc family move in than some yuppie LOL. PM me if you want to see it or something :) :)

bubbles
01-20-2003, 10:41 PM
I will let you guys know on the park. Simone and Lucy, I hope you are doing well. Simone, I will pass on the info about your apt. to friends in LLL in case anyone is looking. That is a great deal! I don't want you to move:crying but I understand. Can't wait to see you and the other ladies again. Kiddos too!

rsps
01-21-2003, 11:09 PM
Wed. or Thurs. at Trolley Barn should work for us.
I'll try to be there Wed. after Peter's nap (3ish) since I probably won't be online again till afterThursday night. Hope to see you.

bubbles
01-22-2003, 06:37 PM
Wouldn't you know, he went to sleep at 3. We probably won't make it. Sorry to miss you guys. Miles usually sleeps late afternoons. I know Audrey sleeps late into the morning. Could we plan anything earlier in the afternoon? I want to see you guys and everyone else too!

Any other SD mommies with younger than 12 month babies? I notice that a lot of the moms here have toddlers and up...just wondering because I have a 4 month old boy & a 7 year old girl.

Hi all

Sorry I have been such a huge flake lately- this pregnancy thing is hitting me hard. I really want to see you all soon- the problem is, somedays I am fine, somedays I'm sick as anything, so it is hard to plan in advance. But I hope to make it soon, especially as Simone and Audrey are leaving us soon :(

Any plans to meet again soon? And Erin, bring along that beautiful boy of yours anyway! We can just coo over him whilst the toddlers run around and play!

simonee
01-27-2003, 03:25 PM
Hi all,
I just told Lucy that we've been going to the Trolley Park (Park and Adams) pretty much every afternoon around 3.30 or 4 (when the daycare kids start to show up), and then we stay till it gets dark.

And dh and Audrey go to the park next to the World Beat Ctr every Tuesday around 3.

So we're always up for a meeting.
And yeah, Erin, Lucy is right. We love to coo over babies ~ and several of us are preggers and want to "practice" on a fresh baby anyway :baby

simonee
01-31-2003, 03:10 PM
hey all, it's Fri and Audrey wants to go to the park on 6th and Spruce. She knows Gabe won't make it, but she insisted on me trying to get Miles over there :D :D

We'll be there from around 2.30 till 5 I guess.

And a different thing. Who gets/has had care at Best Start? Don't you just LOVE Roberta? She's so sweet calm and genuine. Look at the pics on the walls there ~ after all these years, she still gets that squishy look at every baby she holds. And she was truly happy to hear our baby's :heartbeat yesterday. I'd put her in the top 10 of people I've ever known. Somehow I imagine that's what Peggy O'Mara is like, too. :)

I am so sorry we did not make it. Miles always naps in the afternoon. If you can ever get there before two we can meet and then I can push Miles' nap later. Simone, or anyone, would that ever work for you?

Who wants to go out tomorrow (Tuesday)???

It's our last Free Museum day in SD, so we're going to the Reuben Fleet Science museum around 2 I hope (the dino exhibit is gone from the natural history museum :( )

After that, around 3.30, Jeff and Audrey will go to the playground there, which is right next to the world beat center, so they'll see anyone who goes to the drum class (which is from 3 to 3.30), and I'll go home soon after.

Sybil, don't tell us you're going to spend all your time till Fri buying dipes online :LOL :LOL :LOL

Also, Lucy and I both have u/s Wed afternoon at best start. We can do a mothering gathering right over there :D :D :D

Simonee, I was just checking in on our local board and saw this post... And a different thing. Who gets/has had care at Best Start? Don't you just LOVE Roberta? She's so sweet calm and genuine. Look at the pics on the walls there ~ after all these years, she still gets that squishy look at every baby she holds. And she was truly happy to hear our baby's yesterday. I'd put her in the top 10 of people I've ever known. Somehow I imagine that's what Peggy O'Mara is like, too Roberta helped bring my first son into the world. I will never forget arriving at Best Start, I was in transition and she met us at the steps with this look on her face that said, "I know exactly what your going through", but it was more than that, I just knew everything would be alright. She was born for this. Seeing her name here has me almost in tears. We had our second child at home, I wish Roberta could have been our midwife! My husband, new son and I had the honor of being on the cover of their brochure for a while. long ago. I will always LOVE that place. Okay, I'm done...

Check my trading post thread (http://mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?s=&threadid=52792) !! It's a 10-year old very good Ford with low mileage for $3K. The neighbor who was going to buy it flaked out at the last minute. Tell Michael THAT, Sybil ;) :D

Lucy, are you feeling better? Is Verity still there? (wow that sounds very philosophical LOL) Audrey can't wait to give Gabe a few toys :)

Seeyall soon. very soon I hope. And of course, we'll have the car till the dang thing sells.

Anyone up for the zoo this week? I promise not to flake out (I double-checked the calendar this time). The earlier the better for me. Sometime between 10 and 12? Any day works for me this week. Simone-not another flaky American:eek :shake . What's up with that? Anyway, I'd love to go to the zoo. Wednesday afternoon just depends upon Miles' nap. Want to try the zoo then and do earlier in the day (I know, not too early LOL).

I'd be interested in meeting some of you if you wanted to do a playground stop somewhere north (or including) Mission Bay. I have school pickup at lunch time on Wed so that isn't good.

Simonee, I pm'd you about your car.

Hey we just sold the car to a friend in the northwest (an unflaky one, Sybil, This guy ain't from Cali :D :D), which means we'll have it for the rest of the time here!!

We might make the zoo around 12. It's been relatively easy in the mornings, but daylight savings prolly screws us up for a few days. Anyhoo, we'll go Trolley park Wednesday, if anything else is organized here we'll try to go there, and Mission Bay sounds like a lot of fun too :) (we always bring a loaf of bread and have a ball with the birds :D )

Oh, and another idea: the science museum and natural history museum (exhib on dogs) are free this Tuesday! Anybody want to go, other than Sybil in the morning and I in the afternoon :LOL ?
We'll work at being ready for something at noon by the end of this week. Shall we semiplan the zoo for Friday? Anybody got tix for Lupita?? (they're very expensive considering she has to exchange pesos)

I'll be there Wednesday, and the zoo sounds good too, though 10 is a little early for me. It takes us a while tog et going in the morning (you are not the only one Simone!!) 11 or 12 is more realistic :) I can do most days I think. I may try and get to the free museums as well on Tuesday as I think Gabe will love the natural history museum. And Scarlet, I look forward to meeting you sometime- we can make it to Mission Bay one day as well. Simone, I don't mind being your personal chauffeur for the nexy few weeks if you sell your car :) Being the big hearted person that I am (and I charge much less than the local cabs ;) )

Hi Mamas,

We are looking into moving up north- Encinitas.

We want to move into a house with a yard. We are renters. 2 br 2 ba, over 1000 sq ft. Our price range is up to 1800 or so...of course that is if it is AWESOME! We really need a yard and a change. We'd also like to be in walking distance to eateries and playgrounds.

Could you please keep an eye open for us (if you live in the area)? We went up looking on Saturday and have some leads, but not many.

We are great tenants. No smoking, no drugs, no pets- well we have one fish, we always pay rent on time...

I really appreciate it. I want out of OB! ;)

Lucy, we're going to keep the car till we move, but being that bighearted... uh... do you want to do my laundry? And clean the bathroom? :LOL :LOL

Let's plan on the nat hist museum at least. Audrey is jumping around because she'll see Gabe. Anybody else wanna come?

Julie, I was interested in the kitchen for xmas, but you never returned my pm  so I got another one. Good luck on the house. Encinitas should be pretty...

Can anyone else make it Tuesday?

Could we make it just a little earlier on Tuesday? Maybe 1pm? We'd love to join you. Pretty please???? As for the zoo, lets pick a day for that and 11 or 12 would be fine:love
Julie--Wow! you just mentioned Encinintas the other day and now you are serious. Thought you were loving OB. Encinitas is great. I will pass the word on to my friend up there to look for leads.

freethinkingmom

Yes, we are serious :)

OB is great, but not for us anymore. I'm really bumming that the parks we have for the children of OB are dangerous and not kept up.

When we were driving around Encinitas there were playgrounds on ever corner it seemed! Fenced in and with newer equipment.

We want to come to the zoo! I hope to get a pass this week!

When is that, that you are all meeting at the zoo? Seanra and I would love to join you!

I think I'm close to being all set for our zoo pass.

Is the zoo meeting 10-11 on Friday?

We can't do 1pm for the park, Seanra usually naps at 2.

Sybil we could meet at the zoo earlier and then meet up with the rest of the gang later? Pack a picnic lunch? Let me know what your dh says about the kitchen :)

Seanra is going to LOVE the zoo! Now that I have come to terms with my anti-zoo feelings...:(

Hi Bethan,
It is a hard decision. I'm not sure if it is the right one for us. I do know Seanra will love the animals and I also know we need something else to do these days...sigh. We'll see how it goes.

I think I'm confused Simone, because we didn't even have the kitchen back at christmas. I did sell a dollhouse back then tho, I thought that was what you were talking about. That sold right away. How's the little babe doing? Swimming around alot? :)

So is it 10am at the zoo on Friday for the early birds and we'll meet up with the 2nd round of friends at 11 or so? Then we can all have lunch together?

julie

Scarlet
04-07-2003, 03:23 PM
Julie, we ended up buying the zoo passes and just using them for the Wild Animal park... there are still some animals with fairly small enclosures, but on the whole they have quite a lot of privacy which to me is a bigger issue than the enclosure itself.

simonee
04-07-2003, 03:29 PM
Yeah, Julie, I think I mixed it up. We wanted and got a dollhouse at xmas. Oops

I see the point about hte zoo. We've never had a car here, and the zoo was the only nearby place with lots of toddler distractions. The conservation efforts are what pulled us in, in the end. This zoo does a lot of good ~ but it's still a zoo :( Luckily, they're building animal-friendly stuff all the time.

We haven't done Sea World. I figure Anheuser Busch has enough money :)

Zoo on Friday then? I don't think I'll make it before noon, but we can always meet up somewhere right?

OK--Tuesday-inside the Natural History Museum at 1pm
Friday-inside the zoo (tell me where) at 10 am for the early birds and 12 noon for the later crowd.

I would really like to go up to Wild Animal Park sometime. I hear parking is expensive, ugh.

No, we won't go to Sea World, even tho I know she would love that too. It is such a hard decision all this stuff!!! Seriously, maybe I'm a big nerd but I'm so torn. Well not as torn as before as we are going to get the zoo/WAP pass. Partially b/c I can get a year pass to both parks for $32. Does anyone know of a way to get it cheaper?

This price is with a student ID so we won't be getting any free passes with it, otherwise I would have loved to give one to Lupita and Tomi. I'd be willing to chip in a few dollars if that would help Loopy ;)

Thanks Mamas,

hey mamas! lots of posts here, I think we will make it tomorrow either to the museum, the drum class or the park hehe!
thanks so much simonetz and julie for thinking about us for the zoo :love
we are actually leaving on friday to acapulcooooo so we cant come.
About the zoo thing, I was so anti zoo as well, and I am still, but then ds had a great time there, we all did! Is weird, still theres some animals that I see there and I still get depressed. We have been to sea world too, once my mom came and they give the year pass along with the $$$$ entrance, we used it twice and has recently expired. The Sahmu thing is so weird, they have a huge screen and basically the whole thing revolves around it, not actually the whale.... weird
But they have a cool area with lots of fun slides, etc, but they had the loudest music playing, we actually complained by email and also in the sea world office when we went the 1st time and then the 2nd time the music wasnt as loud. so cool!
oh well! enough of depressing thoughts, I know that if we were going to go with you all to the zoo we would have LOTS of fun, and I wouldnt be thinking about any of this!
Ok mamas, see you tomorrow!!

Sounds good Sybil, carpooling is a great idea!

julie

edited to add: Just outside the entrance sounds good and how about 10:30? hee hee, gives me a couple more moments to run around my apt like a mad women getting things together...If 10 is better that is fine with me too...

Sybil, do you want to meet earlier in the park and have lunch or something? Seanra and I want to go but meeting at 1, we'll only be able to play for an hour or so before melt down nap time extravaganza. Anyone else want to meet a little earlier and have some lunch under a tree aka chase Seanra and hope to get 1/2 a sandwich down ;)

Hi girls!!
Loops, that really sux about Maya. Did she just run off? When? At night?

Lucy, A BOY!!!! Do you know that last weekwhen I was online I checked all the pg threads to find out the result of your u/s, but never thought it would be here?WOWIEEEE!!!! So you were actually being restrained, and then having him show off gave it all away, eh? Congratulations? SO how about Burrito? (little donkey) :) BTW Cool that JOsh is out!!!Didhe stand at attention like a sucker? Would you please post all the details on what they were singing on the thread ~ I didn't see the show, and postingon multiple threads just takes too much time with this here weird connection,.

Sybil, I got your pm but this connectionhere is so slow that I"m just going to reply here. I'll let you knowwhen the sweater arrives, I'm very much looking forward to it.

Tomorrow we're going to meet dlb, XM (unless she's in labor) and Rwikene!!! We've been on thefarm of Jeff's friend in northeastern Oregon, and it's actually snowed here a few times :eek Audrey loves running outside with the dogs. I love waddling outside with Willem :LOL The friend has taken us up to see some wild places in the trucka few times, and the roads were so bumpy that I was afraid I was going to have that unassisted childbirth we didn't planon.

Heyalll, please keep goingto thepark okay? Or at least keep posting here that you did, so I'll think that the best women in the SD area keep getting together all the time ;)

I miss you so much already. I"ve just gotten through a few very cry-y days, feeling sorry for myself and just wanting to hang out. Love you all :love :love

Hey local moms! I was hoping someone here would have a midwife recommendation (homebirth). My first birth was at Best Start in Hillcrest, it was a perfect birth but I just wanted to have homebirth for the next. I did have a good homebirth for #2, but don't want to use the same midwife (north county). Soooo, I'm planning homebirth for #3. When I look online, all I find are Christian midwives, I'm not interested in that. Can anyone help me? My births go fast, so I am looking for someone close. I'm in the east county. I'd appreciate any help! Thanks!

lucy - do you mean a doula? i picked up my doula's card for you, but i haven't seen you since i got it. if you can make it to the zoo on wed, i'll bring it then. otherwise, let me know and i'll PM you her name and #.

omegamama-i;m sorry, but the only homebirthing midwife i know of is north county (prpbably the one you used). unfortunately, i have to have a hospital birth because my insurance sucks:crying . i hope you find some one. actually, you might be able to get a referral from someone at this link

its doual and lactation services, but they might know of good homebirthing midwives. you might wnat to check it out too lucy, since they have doula services.

I know of some midwives...

http://www.homebirthmidwife.com/ Vickii Gervais - she is on my SD Natural families board and attended a good friends birth about a year ago. She really like Vickii.

Another is Amy Mossberg. She trained under Diane....I forger her last name. I doulaed at a few births with them. Amy is in the process of taking all her final tests and will soon be certified/licensed.

Gerri Ryan has also been going to midwifery school (the doula Jeri mentioned trained with her in 2002). Gerri is an incredible woman and SD is so lucky to now have her as a midwife. I did a second doula training with Gerri. It was Gerri's first doula class and wanted some doulas she knew to attend and give her feedback. She was of course awesome!
Contact Gerri at (619) 472-0583 or by e-mail at: DoulaGLR@cox.net

I've attended births with Amy and Diane and there was no religious affliation spoke of. I've spent time with Gerri and she has never said anything religious to me either. As a secular humanist I understand your need for someone more like you at your birth.

Someday I too will be a midwife :love I wish I could do doula work :crying I miss it!

Lucy, if you birth that babe quickly I'll be your doula ;) I could probably be gone from here for 5-6 hours! I'll come when you're in transition- thats when you'll need me the most anyways :)

Seanra and I are off tomorrow am for a visit to my family. We'll see y'all soon!

Pigpen
05-13-2003, 01:26 AM
Well I certainly appreciate all the contacts. This is the third time today I've heard of Vicky Gervais, so I'll definately be calling her.
Freethinkingmom, is the Diane your referring to Diane Smith? She was the midwife for #2 son. Of course she's completely competent, but too far away! I wouldn't be surprised if my labor, from start to finish goes 2 hours  Gerri Ryan sounds so familiar. I'm trying to figure out where I've heard of her. I would not have a problem with a Christian midwife, but all the ones I found on the internet, made such a point of calling attention to that aspect, it just made me think "what are they doing?" I just want an attendant, not a sermon. Maybe I'm putting to much emphasis on this, but it seems strange to me. Well, thankyou all again for your help!

Yes, Diane Smith! Phew, my brain hurt from trying to remember ;)

Gerri Ryan would be a great resource to call and ask questions to about other homebirth midwives too. She is kind and informative.

yeah, I meant doula. Duh. Sorry- brain isn't working. I've actually been pretty sick the last few days with a stomach bug (and all the rest :( ) so I won't be joining you tomorrow. I am going to see the midwifes and demand they do some tests- they are a little too complacent down at the birth centre! I am sure I am totally dehydrated, and have hardly eaten a thing in five days. I'm more worried about the baby than anything- he doesn't seem happy. Probably starving, but the midwifes said it is more important to keep fluids down than attempt solids. Ok, TMI!!!! Hope you all have fun at the zoo. Simone, lovely to hear from you sweetie- can't tell you how much you are missed. But enjoy your adventures. San Diego is pretty dreary right now- cloudy and overcast.

Hello. I wanted to introduce myself. My name's Janine and I recently found this particular board. I obsessively hang out at the diaper board most of the time. I had my first baby, Gisele, this April. I'm practically a shut-in most of the time because I'm afraid to venture out to stores with her, but I do have a zoo pass, and would be interested in meeting other San Diego mommies. By the way, where does one breastfeed at the zoo? I've never done it in public, but I want to go soon with my husband to see the new orangutan exhibit.

ok, sorry it's been ages since I posted! Gabe my darling has been very sick- he ended up in hospital yesterday with an IV tube because he got so dehydrated. He is a little better today, but is still like a different kid. His personality has completely changed and I can't tell you how worried I am. He is so moody and depressed, and hasn't tried to walk in days. He also is refusing to eat. It is a very hard time. Luckily my friend from England that is staying here is a children's nurse, so she is helping out a lot, but I am having a hard time keeping it all together.

Ok, enough about my sob story. Gabe is not up to the park tomorrow. We may go to Seaworld for a couple of hours, as Claire my friend hasn't got to do anything yet (apart from look after us sickies!!) and Gabe is happy if I am pushing him around in his stroller. Definitely 805. It is right off of there. From 805 north get off at Murray Ridge/Phyllis Place and go right on Murray Ridge. From 805 south take the same exit and go left on Murray Ridge. Go through the four way stop and turn left at I think the second street. You kind of wind through to the left and there is a parking lot. I will double check the name of the street and post it later. I don't pay attention, I just walk there, lol.

OK ladies, I still don't know the name of the street, but....
It is the second street after the 4 way stop at Galahad and Mission Center Road. The first street leads to the park, but there is no parking. The second street is the one that will lead you to the lot. From Galahad, turn left on the second street and then turn left at the T. It will lead you to the parking lot. Hi everyone. Remember how I couldn't make it last week because of Gisele's ultra fussiness? Well, the problem has been solved! After treating her thrush with nystatin for 3 weeks, her thrush had only gotten worse, and by saturday she was in real distress. The ped thought her crying was probably colic, but the extremeness of it this weekend make me sure it was her thrush. Why do people think it doesn't usually bother babies? Anyway, so I called the ped (Dr. Edwards) in desperation and she told me to try an old remedy, gentian violet. It's very messy, and I can't take Gisele out in public because the purple around her mouth makes it look like I beat her, but it works! By the next day she was soo much better. I was so upset with myself for letting her be in pain for so long. But I thought it was colic because it was mostly in the evening. Anyway, that's my story. Here's a picture for your viewing delight:

I saw this on another messageboard. The city of San Diego is selling compost bins this weekend to residents for $20. They're normally around $80. Here's the link:

is anyone up for anything tomorrow?

for me, it would have to be over by 12:30 or one at the latest, as i have to take my niece to a dress rehersal for a dance recital. and with the whether as overcast as it was today - maybe a park isn't such a good idea?

liam likes to play at the thomas the tank engine train table at the barnes and noble in grossmont center. i think they have story time there on wed at around 10am (though i can never get him to sit still long enough to listen!). there's also a starbucks next door for you sleep deprived new moms! LOL. if anyone is interested in that - we could give it a go. i know sybil is out of town this week - but if anyone else wants to do it or has any other ideas, let me know!

Jeri, I would join you but I have LLL playgroup on Wednesday mornings. Sorry! Anyone else up for the park, providing it isn't too overcast? And if so can we do the one in Serra Mesa pls, as it is nice not to have to chase Gabe all over the place!

BTW, there is a Health and Wellness expo in El Cajon on Saturday if anyone is interested. It is free, and from what I gather it is alternative health practioners giving demos and giving out handouts and info on children's health issues. There are also fun things going on, though not sure what! Balloons and food will be involved! Sorry to be so vague- Gabe's chiropractor told me about it, and it sounds like it could be worth attending. It goes on from 11am- 3pm and it is at El Cajon community centre (195 E. Douglas Ave., 92020).

Hey Lucy, I just saw that you changed your name. When did you do that? Cute:D
What's everyone up for this week? Want to see how the pregnant mamas are feeling in a few days? I missed seeing everyone last week. I love that we have babies to be, newborns, and toddlers. What fun. We had a great time in Phoenix. Miles had a blast getting 24/7 attention and maximum playtime. I loved not having to clean house, deal with the phone, etc. Good vacation time. Anyway, can't wait to see everyone again soon.

glad to see you're back and had a good trip! i'd love to do something this week. i had my 38 week appointment and they did a cervical check and nothing's happening yet - so i might be going "past due." (last time at 38 weeks i was already to 2cm). but my ob knows that i have due dates all the way until 7/1, so hopefully they won't be pushign the whole induction thing. as long as its not raining, we can do the park on wed again - defintiely by your house sybil!

I'm up for whatever tomorrow. Indoors or out. Just trying to think what we could do that's indoors- any ideas? The park shouldn't be bad though, as long as it's not raining.

Lucy and I were just talking and wondered if anyone would be up for meeting on Thursday. It would be around 3pm. Miles just started preschool:crying (I am so sad today) and goes T, Th until 2:30. What do you all think? Wednesdays are also a busy day for Lucy 'cause she has her LLL playgroup in the morning.

thursday might work better this week for me anyway - we've ALL been sick here, so an extra day before going out might do us some good. so, do you want to say 3ish at the serra mesa park on thursday?

sybil, that's a great picture of miles and nicholas!

how did miles do at preschool??? and how did YOU do with him gone?:crying

Neither of us did very well with preschool. Miles cried on an off the entire time. The teachers were really great with him, but they did have to take care of other kids too. When he got one on one and they really entertained him he would stop crying. He actually took a nap by falling asleep with one of the teachers. He woke up and cried for another hour waiting for me. It was really hard for me too. I wish it was like lots of kids where they cry when you leave and then run off to play. It is going to be rough for awhile. I am already dreading tomorrow.
So, I will see everyone around 3 at the park off Murray Ridge tomorrow? Second left past the four way stop on Murray Ridge road.

hey ladies - just wanted to give you a labor update! i had my appointment today and i'm at 3 cm and fully effaced. they stripped my membranes, so i'm expecting to go anytime. with liam, they stripped my membranes on a friday and i had him by early sunday morning, so jim;s hoping for a father's day baby! i've been having some contractions since then, but not enough to be heading to the hospital. wish me luck:):D

WOW, Jeri!!! I'm so excited for you :) :) :)

I hope you have your family around so you are able to get some good rest while you can. Take it easy and rest up as much as you can for laboring. Keep water around you at all times and drink, drink, drink. A well hydrated uterus is a working uterus ;) + when you pee and sit on the toilet it opens your pelvis up and helps baby come down (same with sitting on a birthball/squatting/low stool- opens your pelvis 30% more!).

I'm with you in spirit, supporting you, trusting you, listening to you...so are the other 300,000 women in labor with you :) Draw from that strength.

Thinking of you Mama :love

PM me if I can help in any way.

~julie

thanks ladies:). i'm still having random contractions, but i've lost more plug. i'm getting impatient, but at the same time i have the remnants of a cold that would be nice to have totally gone before i get into the nitty gritty of labor. so i'm juts relaxing, drinking water, puttering around and all that. i have another ob appointment wed, so if nothing happens by then, at least i'll see how far i've gotten!

thanks for keeping us updated sweetie! It shouldn't be long now- keep your strength up, and get over your cold! And remember, your body knows what to do when you go into proper labour- just trust it and go with it. We'll be thinking about you! :hug

I will keep on checking here, we have been in TJ almost every day so my computer time is almost non existant!

well, if she's still not here, and i'm feeling well, i'll definitely be up for something. my prelabor symptoms have really slowed down. i'm getting contractions (and not very strong ones) when liam nurses, but that's it. i shouldn't be impatient, because i'm not even "overdue" yet, but of course i am :p . sooo. . .are you thinking wed or thursday?

well, the ob says i'm now at 4 cm and is precicting i go ti tonight - but we all know how those predictions can be! he also offered to admit me and break my water and i was like :jaw nope! but, if i'm still hanging in there on thursday, i'll be there - threeish works well for me, because if liam naps, that's about the time he's getting up. and if he doesn't nap, that's about the time he's driiving me so crazy that i need to get out of the house with him :p .

i have sybil's number, so i'll give her a call when the baby gets here, if i don't see you on thursday!
