View Full Version : I'm afraid he's overheating

My son is six months old. I put him to sleep in his bed then bring him to mine the first time he cries. He sleeps cuddled up to me and he always seems too hot. If he's in warm clothes, he sweats. If I just put him in a onesie, he still sweats and his limbs feel all clammy. Isn't overheating dangerous for babies?
What does everyone else do?

Overheating is dangerous, but I don't think that swaeting is a sign of overheating.

I have always slept cuddled next to my girls, and they usually slep in onesies. My oldest always sweats profusely when she sleeps...never wants covers. She used to sweat a ton when she nursed too. The younger girl rarely sweats.

Is your dc sweaty at other times?

Ok, so I was wrong. I looked up signs of overheating and found the following:

sweating
damp hair
heat rash
rapid breathing
restlessness
fever

Thanks for looking into that for me. No, he's not sweaty in general. It makes me nervous. Maybe I should start wearing long sleeves myself, then we could both just sleep on top of the covers.
