cloth book Crafts and pictures

I'm inspired by our friend Becca (who used to moderate here) and her cloth book making skills, to make a cloth book for the new baby.

Here are my first two pages...
The sheep fur is soft and there are three different fabric textures on teh page.
The second page is shiny and sfot and fuzzy in spots and the kite is loose from the page so it can be moved around with the wind!

This is fun starting. Not nearly as nice as the stuff Becca makes, but Fun all the same!

The earth one is stuffed with dried lavender so it smells lovely :)
The sheep has a jingle bell and textures
the kite moves and teh flowers are stuffed with lavender
The mermaid has mohair that can be unbraided and played with :)

ooh I love your book! what great ideas - I'm inspired! DS loves different textures, so I've been collecting fabric scraps and remnants... now it's time to put them together. Thanks for showing this!

My ds has a cloth book and a friend and I were just discussing how much work was put into it. I think I would get frustrated making something as detailed as yours, but we thought a fabric book with samples of different textured shapes might be fun and simple. Maybe velcro for scratchy, fake furry stuff, satin, etc.
