I have the three in a bed, and thought it was really good. I liked the historical look at sleeping and parenting in the UK, I forget if it touched on the US statistics. I thought she had references in there about where she got her information. Have you tried looking on the Mothering archives of old magazine articles? They might have a lead that way.

I would focus on work by people with credentials like Dr. James McKenna, or other journal articles. I would give her an 'out' by noting that for you co-sleeping and extended breastfeeding are cultural norms (everyone in my family did it, it was normal, etc). Then I would say thanks but this is a parenting decision. I would tell her about ds breastfeeding and tell him it's okay to tell the therapist whatever he wants to tell her.

What are the long term effects on my baby of sharing a bed? (McKenna) (http://www.nd.edu/~jmckenn1/lab/faq.html#effects)
The above has a number of citations of other journal articles on co-sleeping.

I loved Three in a Bed too, but I agree with Chicagomom that your psychologist may be more influenced by primary articles.
I'm sorry I don't have any to add.

Hey, thanks so much! I am printing the first article, it is good, but it doesn't really address co-sleeping with on older child.
the second one cost money or a membership to read it...
So no one thinks it's worth it to loan her the books, just articles like these?
Where do I find more like this without paying any money.....
Thank you!
