Argh! Oh no! I hope what ever it is that sent you to bed is brief and you're up and around soon.

Do you have a laptop? Wireless?

At 2.5 my daughter really started to like looking at starfall.com with me -- maybe you can entertain your dc with something like that.

If you have to be lying down then picking up crocheting might be easier than knitting.

Books, books on tape, a subscription to a movie service like netflix...

:hug Oh! I hope everything;s ok! I'm sorry you ahve to go on bedrest! :(

If it's only for a week, esp, call in all your friends and jewely's friends for favors. Sign up one for each day of the week or every other day to take her out. Movies for her and a laptop for you would be great.

Wishing you the best of luck!

Aww, I'm sorry! I think the calling friends for help is a good idea. Hang in there mama! :hug

Spark (as usual :) ) has a great suggestion in calling friends to help with Jewely. Especially if it's only for a week, you might be able to find someone to entertain her for awhile each day.

I'm sorry you have to be on bedrest and hope everything is ok with you and your baby.

Oh, I'm sorry that you have to be on bed rest! I hope nothing is too wrong. I think it would be very very hard to do with a young child for sure! There have been some good suggestions - good luck! I'll be thinking of you.

I'm so sorry you have to go on bedrest, and hope it's only temporary and you and your baby are okay. I second the recommendations for laptop + friends to help + movie rentals. Also, reading books to DC would work well in bed...

I don't have any suggestions nearly as good as the others given....but i'm sending good vibes. And lots of hope that it's really only a week or so!

Oh no!!! Bedrest would suck :( ! Movies for both of you? Books on CD or tape checked out from the library keep DD entertained. Calling in friends (like everyone else said)? For you, do you crochet or knit or quilt? Also, is it possible to lay down a sheet/blanket outside and lie down on it while your DD plays?

Let us know how it goes!

Also, if your husband isn't into cooking, you could tell your friends/family that one great way they could help out is to bring meals! Hope you feel better soon

I've been off of work for 2 weeks. Not exactly on"bedrest" but with strict orders to take it easy. Its next to impossible with a 15 month old. I hope you are having better luck that I did!

So I just got put on at least another 2 weeks of light activity....meaning no work. I doubt they will let me come back to work at 32+ weeks for 3 weeks and then go out again, so I am most likely out for the rest of the pregnancy. Which sucks, because it uses up all of my leave time, before I even HAVE the baby. I wouldn't even care except right before I got pregnant we switched everyone over to my benefits because they were better than DH's. Now we have to pay out of pocket for them. Its totally freaking me out. I know I should be happy about not working, but I keep dwelling on all the bad. I need to stop that!

I'm supposed to be doing the "light activity" thing too - which is a total laugh to me with Jake in tow (22 mos). There is nothing light about our days. Add to that helping to take care of my mom plus trying to sell a house - plus trying to keep my neurosis in check about my house being totally clean all the time...pretty hopeless here. I'm just trying not to take long, overheating walks, not lifting heavy bags of groceries, etc. Oh, and I've sworn off laundry - (no good reason for that except that I HATE it! :))

i am doing pretty badly on the bed rest thing. i really need to try harder. but you have to feed your kid and a 2 1/2 year old is only going to sit for so long. I don't know anyone with a laptop but that would be a good idea.
i have to say i am appalled at how many movies i have let dd watch. my sister took her to the zoo yesterday, and my mom and sister took her the second half of saturday but i was so upset from having been on my feet all day that i cried them baling b/c they were still not coming for 2 hours. 9they came early) dh has been helpful and his friend came over and even helped dh and they cleaned the fridge!! but atill it's tough and it sucks and it stresses me out when i know i am not getting the rest i am supposed to be getting.
