TRying to find out about the El Paso and surrounding area....

Considering moving to that area (or within a 45 min drive) in 2004 so that I can go to Midwifery school.
Would appreciate any help/advice. Anyone out there?

I grew up there! I and my 4 brothers and sisters were delivered by a midwife in our parents home.

I love El Paso now that I am grown up and would love to move back there, but hard to do with a house and a law practice here and most of my family have moved here too. People joke that El Paso only suffers inflation, high unemployment, recessions, but never enjoys boom times.

I think midwifery is more acceptable there or so my pediatrician tells me.

El Paso is the only city that I know that has beautiful mountains less than a mile from its downtown.

Las Cruces, New Mexico is a lovely university town about 45 minutes from El Paso. You should definitely check it out!!!
