Well I guess I have been lurking... I did introduce myself back in March I think, but I've moved a couple times since then and haven't had a chance to post regularly. Ok, about me....
I'm Rachel, due on 10/20 with #6. We found out in June that we are having a girl and have decided to name her Kahlan Elizabeth. This is my boyfriends first baby and he is very excited! We are planning on a waterbirth at the hospital with a midwife. I would love to have a homebirth, but can't find a midwife near here that will do homebirths. I am a little worried about not making it to the hospital in time. My last baby was born in about an hour after contractions started and the one before that was 1.5 hours, so I know that I will probably have a very fast labor. Anyway, I am very anxious to have her. I can't wait to see what she looks like and hold her. I also can't wait to not be pregnant anymore lol, I am so miserable!

Hi there! I'm due with baby #4 in a week or two, and our other kids are seven and under. I'm a SAHM, a swimmer, and I love classical music....my kids are homeschooled, are avid swimmers also, and love to play piano and do normal kid stuff (like fight and make messes LOL.)
I'm hoping for a successful VBAC more than anything! A healthy baby and mommy, and a healthy and uncomplicated birth....that would be glorious. Wow has this pregnancy ever been difficult, certainly my most difficult one by far. I'll be thrilled to meet our tiny new person! I can't wait to start reading everyone's labor stories soon.
I guess I'm not really a lurker, just thought I'd say hello anyway!

How many children do you have now?
I have 2 - Liam Patrick is 4 years and 8 months old and Rhiannon Kathleen is 27 months old. Both are very very excited to welcome the baby to our family
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I have a degree in English (not evidenced well by my typing abilities :nut ), I've been married for 6 years to Jim, and my life is currently consumed by my kids - not much time for much else!
What is the the thing you are most looking forward to when this baby comes? not being pregnant :LOL . only half way kidding there. I'd say nursing him, cuddling him, and seeing how they older kdis interact with him.

Okay, I too am not necessarily a lurker, but I am absolutely up for a roll call! :thumb
My name is Amy, I am 23, and am expecting my first child on Oct 8. I don't have any other children but am definately excited to meet this one!!!!
My husband and I have been married since April of this year, and have been together for about two and a half years now. We are so very happy together, and he has been nothing but awesome during the pregnancy. My family has also been very supportive, and my two year old niece is really anxious to meet the baby.
I myself have many interests, such as biology, psychology, and literature. I often do freelance studying in biology, psychology, and well, I love reading, so that's covered my literature. :LOL These will certainly continue after the baby's born, and I will hopefully figure out exactly what it is (besides being a great mommy) that I will want to do - meaning, what to go to school for.
What am I most looking forward to with this baby? I look forward to holding her in my arms for the first time, and watching my husband meet her for the first time as well. I'm looking forward to nursing her, and creating the special bond that occurs when you look into your child's eyes, while giving them the nutrients that only we can provide with our mother's milk. :throb

I have been lurking for the last couple of months...although, i did post a bit when I was working and online more often. Now, it seems as though I am just awaiting the arrival of our new little one and spend more time than I should on the internet since we got DSL at home (yippie).
Anyway, I am 29 and this is our first baby. Due date is around Oct. 15th. I have a sense that it is a girl but we don't know for sure. We don't have our names picked out yet but we do have a good list going.
Ummmm...i teach community college and have had the summer off and, with maternity leave, don't go back to work until January. It's been a great couple of months. My pregnancy has been wonderful but I am starting to feel ready for the baby to arrive. Lately, I have been feeling more anxious, irritable, and easily frustrated - guess those hormones are increasing now.
Thanks for starting this thread - i needed a kick in the butt to actually post something instead of just reading!

I guess I'm a lurker too. :o I am due with # 2 on Oct. 15th. My first is a 2 1/2 yr old ds who amazes me more and more every day. We found out we are expecting a girl. Name is a surprise. We don't tell anyone the name so we don't have to hear opinions. DS is looking forward to having his lap back. Dh and I are just looking forward to seeing what she looks like and getting to know eachother.
A little about myself... I am an RN and had my last day before baby 2 weeks ago. We haven't decided if or when I will go back. If I do, it is only 4 days a month.
We are planning a hospital birth with a Ob that is actually a friend of mine and on board with our birth plan.
Can't wait to start reading more birth stories. Safe births to you all!!! :)

But I never really introduced myself... so now's as good a time as any..
When is your baby due? We have to do scheduled c/s since the baby has spina bifida/hydrocephalus and a natural birth might cause more damage to his back (he has an open lesion)... So anytime between Oct 17 and Nov 3. We have an appt with the neurosurgeon on Friday to schedule. I'm leaning towards a Libra, so that narrows the window a bit.
How many children do you have now? An amazing, wonderful 8 year old son. He is the sweetest kid in the whole world and is looking forward to being a big brother. He told me the other day that the first thing he is going to do in the morning when he wakes up is look in on his brother to make sure he is okay.
Tell us a little bit about yourself... I teach 8th grade special ed. Students with learning disabilities. Right now teach 2 Language Arts classes, 2 math classes and one reading.
Used to have hobbies, but ran out of time :)
Quirky thing: small-time comic book fanatic. Went this summer to San Diego's ComiCon. Already have reservations for next summer. Trying to think up a costume for baby.
What is the the thing you are most looking forward to when this baby comes? Just meeting him. I've wanted a second child for a very long time and can't wait for him to be here. Really looking forward to the day when we can finally come home from the hospital and truly start our lives together.
I can't wait to see his father holding him-- I really miss seeing him hold a baby!

Nice to meet you all!
When is your baby due?
My baby is due Oct 20th
How many children do you have now?
I have 2 children already. DS is going to be 4 Nov. 5th and DD is 2.5. They are soooooo excited about this baby, and ask me every day if the baby is coming today.
Tell us a little bit about yourself
My name is Jen. I am a 35 sahm, married to DH for 6.5yrs. We live in San Diego, CA and have since we were married. We love to travel and get outside. I like to get on the computer surf the web and my forums, while DH likes to info search. I am also a provisional Bradley Method childbirth instructor. I started my first of 2 "probationary" (that's what provisional means) class series a few weeks ago and really am enjoying it!
What is the the thing you are most looking forward to when this baby comes?
I am really looking orward to meeting this baby, finding out the sex isn't that important, just holding, nursing and loving him/her. (I think it's a boy but not counting on it :wink )
I am also really looking forward to reading all of your birth stories! :love

I'm a new lurker for a few days!
When is your baby due? I'm due October 1st but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if I am a couple of days/weeks over that time. I just have a feeling, could be wrong though.
How many children do you have now? I have one wonderful son, Kolby (2).
Tell us a little bit about yourself: I am a WAHM to Kolby and live on a farm in Kentucky with awesome pet chickens, cats, a dog and soon miniature donkeys (we're holding off picking them up until after the baby is here and a few weeks old since I can only hobble around right now LOL). Oh yes, and DH's cattle (ugh!) - not fond of them!
As for work, I do medical transcription for a gynecology office remotely over the Internet part time and I also work with Ellaroo baby carriers in design as well as have my own baby carrier website called Kolamo Baby (named after my son Kolby Amon).
What is the the thing you are most looking forward to when this baby comes? Just giving her so much love. I've had a very rough summer with the loss of 4 of my pets and I am ready for some positiveness in my life! I think a chunky little baby girl will fit the bill LOL. I just want to see her smile and see who she looks like. I'm very excited to meet her.

I have posted infrequently over the last 9 months, and can't remember what I posted in the first trimester anyway!
I'm Heidi. This is our 5th baby, our oldest being 7. Dh and I have been married for almost 8 years. This has been a very Looooong pregnancy for me as we have moved twice during it and have a lot happen...it feels like I've been pregnant forever! Plus, I got pregnant only 6 months after our last baby was born (she just slept too well at night and I got my period back sooner than usual) so I didn't really get much of a break. I am just very tired, but excited to meet this new baby....and see how to juggle taking care of my toddler and a new baby (thank heaven for slings!). For some reason, I feel very nervous about labor and birth....more so than with any other labor or birth. I hope that is just because I am so tired and can't imagine putting in the hard work it takes to go natural, but I am willing to do and can't wait to meet the baby!
