View Full Version : who here said they made placenta prints?

I remember reading that someone here gave everyone at the birth a placenta print as a thank you. I'm planning on doing the same but would like to include a black and white postcard about birth and peace and frame them.
I was just wondering if you made the print when they were there and how big the print turned out to be (will it fit on regular 8 x 10 paper with room for a postcard?).
If you have any other suggestions, I'm all ears (or eyes).
I guess I'll do some research about it online and see what I come up with as well.

I'm pretty sure it was MamaFern who did them

I plan to make a large one to frame for the babe to have on it's wall. My MW apprentice knows how to do it...just have to decide if she'll be at the birth or not. (Another post explains this.)

yep it was me :)

well it turned out as big as the placenta was! i think they vary in size.. it was about the size of a small dinner plate ( a nice big healthy placenta!).. i could measure it if you want.. i have some of the prints in my room.. it fit on regular sized construction paper, rice paper and handmade paper.. thats what i printed on. im torn this time because i want to eat my placenta and make prints! but im not sure what i can use that is okay to put all over the placenta, then wash off and eat it.. i dont want to make myself sick..
