Well, you'd think that with this being our fourth, I would know when to go to the hospital, right? WRONG. Yesterday I had the bloody show, and last night contractions got stronger and stronger, and more bloody show. Since the hospital is 60 miles away, the doc agreed that I should come in, although the contractions were still 10 minutes apart. I just didn't think they were gonna stop or let up. Last night was my third night of really strong pre-labor, and I thought, maybe this is finally it! WOW!

Well, I got there at dawn, and of course, things stopped again as soon as the sun came up! Arrgghh! And then I was only 2 CM dilated, and the baby was still so high up the doc couldn't even be sure s/he was still head-down. (S/he is still head down though!) Anyway, it was annoying, the whole thing. My doc and doula and DH were there, I was in my nightgown ready to keep laboring, and the whole thing fizzled out. Aggh, did I ever feel silly. I know that women are always getting sent home because the labor is too early, but still....120 mile drive, waking our friends up at 5 AM to watch our kids, just the hassle of it all. I was a little embarrassed, I admit.

Here's hoping I get to active labor one of these days, and Baby stops jumping up and down in there! Good luck with the rest of pregnancy, everyone!

:hug Darn! Sorry you had to go through that. Especially all that driving etc, yikes! And of course thinking you were going to have the baby in your arms sooner and then not. It will be soon!

I bet you'll be really soon too, Worldshakerz! Maybe we'll deliver on the same day/night? My due date is the same as yours....and I hope NOT to go 42 weeks this time! Two more weeks of this and I think I'd go loco.

The race is on :wink No pressure though. :LOL That would be kind of cool though, wouldn't it? I went into labor the same time as my SIL with DS. I automatically thought of all the other laboring women in the world as kind of a positive force through my labor, and having someone I knew of specifically in labor was pretty cool too.

what a bummer...I did the same thing last time...exactly a week before it happened for real.

I felt so stupid too but then my midwife said it's way more common to have prelabour sessions in subsequent pregnancies rather than in first ones...it never happened to me in one and two.

and when it did happen for real I didn't want the midwife to come because it's EXACTLY the same. It just lasted until baby came out was the only difference. :LOL

Soon..it will happen very very soon for all of us..it's not even October yet!

Aww that sounds like it was kind of a pain. Hugs. HOpe the next time really IS the real thing (And you make it in time, sounds like your body is working ahead a bit to get all ready).

Still having early labor here, but things are definitely heating up. I'm pretty sure he/she will appear this weekend! These contractions are I-N-T-E-N-S-E. Ooooogggghhhhh.
