Why do I keep getting emails about replies on threads?

I have gotten three or four emails today telling me that someone has replied to threads I have subscribed to. I don't know how or when I subscribed to any threads. I haven't changed anything about how I post and have never had these notification emails until yesterday. I am not interested in being subscribed to any threads b/c I check the site multiple times a day for any threads of interest. How do I stop the emails?

On the top tool bar, to the left it says User CP. This is your Control Panel. You can change this setting by going there.

When ever you post on a thread, you are automatically "subscribed" to that thread and your settings are set to send you an email to alert you that there are new posts after yours. You can change this in your CP.

Can you explain exactly how to do this, please?

I am having the same annoying problem- it's relatively new. I've been to the user cp, and have looked for an option to turn off all subscriptions. I can't find it!

In the Control Panel, go to the Subscribed Threads section. It is on the top. Underneath each thread title, you are given the option to either reply or unsubscribe. Just click on unsubscribe and you should be good to go on getting rid of those you are already subscribed to.

Next you're going to need to click on Edit Options in the panel on the left of the screen. Scroll down to Messaging and Notification. Under Default Thread Subscription Mode, click on the drop down box and select Do Not Subscribe.

Thanks so much- I'd figured out how to unsub thread by thread, but for some reason didn't find the unsub all spot.
