Hi, I'm not much of a techie. I would like to make a more streamlined link to my blog in my signature line. I've noticed that some mamas have something like "Here's my blog," and the word blog is a link. . . I'd like to do that, too. Is this somewhat simple to explain? Thanks in advance!

I'll try and make it so you can cut and paste the code. :D

(url=http://hippomommy.blogspot.com/)My Blog(/url)

Paste that into your signature line space in your UserCP. Then you will need to change each ( to a [ and each ) to a ] (putting the [ ] in the above would have shown you the link not the code you need)

Doing that changes (url=http://hippomommy.blogspot.com/)My Blog(/url) to My Blog (http://hippomommy.blogspot.com/)

I hope that helps! :)

I know lots of people are asking how you put in a link address but have the clickable link say something like..."my blog" or "my family" etc.
You used to be able to click on the little globe icon "insert link" button and it would give you the option first to put in text...then the web address came second. Can it be put back like that? It is really hard to type it all in and to remember how to do the html code by hand. :dizzy: That would be because I am not a computer genius. :lol
Anyway, can that feature be put back like it was quite a few months ago. I really loved that option. :D

ETA: This was supposed to be a new thread. :lol

Arrgh. subbing while I figure this out too. Yes, I second getting that old button back, it was incredibly easy to do the clickable titles then. Now it's way past me :dizzy:

Hmm... an hour or two later finally got most of them inserted. What a royal pain in the ....

Thanks for the tips! Without your cut and paste instructions I'd be completely lost, it just seems like the computer didn't want to cooperate with my code, lol.

Cutie Patootie and ericswifey- I hope I'm understanding your confusion- if I'm wrong, when I explain it I'll just be a big dork! :lol

It really is not any harder with the new way. You don't have to remember any code or really do anything different than you used to- it's just that instead of typing the words you want to show up in the old popup box, now you type them directly into your reply.

OK, when you click on the globe, the popup box opens, and you paste in the site you want to link to (www.whatever.com). Then when you click OK, it puts it into your reply. Notice that part of it is highlighted in blue. Now: type the words you want to show as the link ("My blog" or "click here", etc.)

That's it! That is all you have to do. It will then automatically insert whatever you name the link, where the blue highlighted text used to be.

OK, somebody who was confused please try this and let me know if it made sense to you. :o

To get to where you can edit your signature, you need to click the UserCP link at the top left, then click Edit Signature at the top left of the new page.

If you purchase the current special of a business signature & avatar, can you put a picture of the product you are selling as the avatar?
