Last night I was watching "Gentle Birth Choices" (borrowed it from my birthing from within class teacher) with my soon to be 5 yo son. When it showed a water birth, his eyes got real big and he said:
" Hey, let's have our baby in the water! That way he'll already be clean! What do you say? Let's do it!"
I thought it was so cute.

Yesterday Landon was rubbing my belly. My belly button is starting to look really funny, not really sticking out yet, but just about. He looked at my belly button and said "the baby's coming, look I can see his head" :) Too darn funny and adorable. I love that he is getting it somewhat, just need to figure out how to tell him where the baby will actually come out.

ooh fun one littlemomma.... i asked lucca to walk downstairs with me today and he wanted me to pick him up. i said we should probably start to practice for when mooch is here and momma won't be able to carry him as much. he INSISTED the baby is going to come out of me walking and won't need to be carried. i explained how little and helpless s/he'll be and how s/he'll need our help to take care of him... "that's okay mom. i'm going to put him down and teach him to walk, like this..." and then he pounded across the floor frankenstein-style, arms out in front and legs totally straight. as my 5yrold would say, totally hylerical! :LOL

My DS came to my MW appt. with me last week (he's come to a few, but not all of them). We often read Dr. Sear's book on getting ready for baby. So, when I told him we were at the midwife's office, he wanted to know if it was time for mommy to take deep breaths and for Aaron to be quiet like a mouse. I told him not yet - that was a few weeks away!

Cute thread! Ds age 2.5 seems to think that there is also a baby in his belly, and when he sits on the toilet to poop he pushes hard and asks if his baby is going to come out...
also, every time I have a Dr appt. Ds asks if the baby's going to come out today.

Lucie thinks she is going to have a baby too. She named it Ray. She keeps trying to push it out. She also said that there are two girls in my tummy and that they are named LuLu and CeCe......

"the babies going to come out of my mommy's womb"
"i used to be in my mommmy's womb"
when i asked what we should name the baby
"Iaya" (pronounced I-Ya)
then a pause well i contemplated it
"Iaya hungry, Iaya Little, Iaya Jewely"
it was my 2 1/2 year olds first joke and what an intelligant one it was!!

My niece initially thought that when i ate something it would splash onto the baby's head. Like if I was having a glass of milk - it just came pouring down over the baby and that in order to eat, the baby was supposed to stick out her tongue and have some, too.
For some reason my niece also thinks that the baby knows how to disco and sometimes shakes maracas and Salsa dances :LOL

every time i try to get k over to feel when the baby is kicking, she crawls over (she has a broken leg) and kicks me and says "baby kicking!" :LOL

*I* sometimes think that the baby either knows how to disco or salsa - like when I'm sitting in class, watching baby jump around in there!

Conversation between DS (3.5yo) and my dad:
Dad: What are you hoping for, a brother or a sister?
DS: A brother so we can play together.
Dad: What is your mom hoping for?
DS: A China
(Translation: a vagina, otherwise known as a girl. Mom was really hoping for a China). hahahaha My dad didn't understand him until we explained it, but DH and I were laughing hysterically!

Oh, I just thought of another one...DS was at daycare and he said to another little girl (2yo) "Fiona, you and I are going to have a baby on Sunday. Did you know that?"

Dad: What is your mom hoping for?
DS: A China
This is so funny...because that is what I told my Mom when I was about 3-4 years old...I told her women have "chinas" and men have "pee-pee's". I still laugh sometimes when I hear the word China!

My two year old isn't very verbal yet, but today we were watching a birth and I explained to her that the baby comes out of her vagina and she looked REALLY offended.
She flat out told me "No". When I asked her where babies came out from, she shrugged. It actually started to make her very angry when I insisted that's where babies came out from.
It took me a while, but I think it's because she knows she has a vagina, and may have misinterpreted what I was saying as SHE would have a baby...

DS's cute sayings:
Me: What do you think we should call baby brother?
DS: Baby sister!!
"Wonnie help baby brother come out" (referring to our midwife, Ronnie)
"Good morning baby brother" (okay, I suggested this because DS laid his hand on my belly and said "Oh, baby brother!")

Rowan hasn't really acknowledged much about the baby yet...he'll repeat "baby inside" if i tell him that there's a baby inside my tummy, but doesn't seem to really get it. then yesterday, out of the blue, he was looking at my belly button which is starting to pop out much more and he pushed on it and said "oh no!! baby stuck in the hole!!" LMAO!!!!
