Deleting old usernames

It's really hard to find a good username when so many of there were taken up by people who haven't posted in years or never did post. Has MDC considered deleting usernames that haven't been used in a long time, say a year or more?

Yes we have considered it but decided against it for a few reasons. But if someone wants a username that is taken by an inactive member I can contact the person and ask for activity or removal of membership. The latter would free up the username for that person.
