What info are you including with your birth beads?

I'm ganking my idea from a Mother Blessing I went to earlier this year, modified though. With that necklace, we each brought a bead to represent each child that we had birthed. As we strung the bead onto the neclace, we told what we learned from that particularbirth. Obviously we are only doing one bead,so I'll modify and do something along thelines of telling what I learned from birthing, period. Also,will include something about births upcoming,etc. I'll figure it out better when I write it. Still gotta buy and paint the little boogers first, then the ideas will flow to me :)

Besides info about myself and why I picked the bead, I was going to write a birth blessing to go with mine. I think whatever we each want to do will be great. It will add to the individuality!

I don't think there are any criteria about what kind of bead to give. I was wondering if the beads are for us or if they're supposed to be for our babies. If they're for us, then I'd send something different than I'd send for a baby. Does anybody know?

I thought they were beads to help us visually through labor? Or maybe I'm waaaay off base. :LOL

Whew! I mean, I *could* paint them... but I can't say how creative they'll be! ...and I think all I have laying around is poster paints... :LOL

I think that the birth beads are supposed to be for whatever we want them for. For me they will be a connection during labor of other moms I know who have gone through, are going through, or will go through labor. It will be a sign of power and strength for me and encouragement. I intend to keep it near me as I get closer to giving birth and get worried about all the what if's as a visual reminder of not being alone and how many other women are doing the same thing. That's what it will be for me. :) And while I think it is awesome that Tara is painting her beads (and I can't wait to see them!), I am not that creative and will just be buying mine so I think that's fine. :LOL
