Mamas, I wanted to tell you about something that happened at our Walk to Remember yesterday. I hope you find comfort in knowing your babies' spirits made this happen.
There was a table set up w/pieces of paper and pens that we could write messages to our babies. Some people sat there for several minutes composing just the perfect words. I knew exactly what I wanted to say and I quickly wrote my message and gathered up the messages that the rest of my family had written and I gave them to a volunteer. He took the messages and tied them to a single balloon and then our single balloon became a part of a very large balloon bouquet. At the end of the program they played a song and then our bereavement nurse let the whole bouquet go.
The weather yesterday was beautiful and perfect for our walk. It was sunny, chilly, but no wind. When it came time for the nurse to let the bouquet go, this absolutely calming wind came out of nowhere. It was like a crescendo in a piece of music. It started out so calm and as the nurse let go of the bouquet, the wind got stronger and stronger and lifted those balloons into the sky. It waited until the balloons had cleared the trees overhead and then it stopped just as suddenly as it started.
It was the neatest experience I've ever had and I just knew that my Reagan, all of the babies we were there to honor, and your precious little ones were responsible for that wind. They wanted their messages and they wanted us to feel the peace that that wind brought.
:hugs to all of you. I just wanted to share what happened and let you know how strong all of our babies' spirits are. Especially when we least expect it.
