Someone mentioned this in an update thread and I wanted to comment. This pg I have had BIG problems with numb hands (part. my rt) and my feet. I finally made it in to my chiropractor and it helped soooo much. Now, I sometimes get it in my right hand still but not in my feet at all or my left hand. I will be going back to get another adjustment in a couple days to see if we can't finish off the right hand. I really wish I had gone earlier before it got so bad.

So, if you are suffering from this (even just mildly bothered) I really rec. a chiropractor. :thumb

Chiropractors rock. I really need to go see one of those people :)

I have my 4th chiro appt. this afternoon. :D You are right, he does help the numbness. My left hand is still numb (I am a leftie, and I think that is why it is more affected than my right) but I really feel progress is being made. I have always been out of alignment, and so I wasn't surprised that I needed work done. He can't take Xrays, so he hasn't given me definitive diagnoses, but so far, we are working on:

My neck-- the numbness in my hand he says is caused by severe tension in my neck. Makes sense, I keep all my tension in my neck.

Upper and lower back-- Lower back hasn't really caused any problems, we are basically doing "preventative maintanence"--my words, not his-- to help keep it in alignment for when the baby comes. Upper back has been causing LOTS of problems, and he adjusted that.

Wrist and hands, fingers-- He also adjusted these areas to help with the circulation. There wasn't much that needed to be done though.

I haven't decided whether the baby likes these appts. During and after the visits, he squirms ALOT. I don't know if he's mad at the "intrusions" caused by manipulating my hips, etc., or if he's happy that he has more room, due to the adjustment opening up my hips :D.

I would love to hear diff. ppl's experience with their chiros!! Tell me what they do to "preggos!" :D

I too have been plagued with carpel tunnel since the very beginning which is a real bummer since i work from home on the computer a ton and love to knit. I’ve been wearing the wrist braces with limited success, mostly at night. Lately, I’ve discovered water aerobics is great for relieving the numbness and tingliness for a few days afterwards. Yoga and regular lap swimming is pretty good too but something about all the low impact stretching involved in water aerobics seems to really help.

Plus, you feel all loose and relaxed afterwards.
