I love the book, Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline-- it's the book I always come back to.

However, one part that gives me some problems is how to reflect back DD's feelings without it sounding like I "know" what she's feeling or asking her to analyze them. In her examples, the author seems to (1) describe how the child looks physically (to the child) and (2) start off with "You seem _____________."

Can anyone give me some other sentence starters? I feel fake always saying, "You seem_______________."

I also have to fight off the temptation to ask if she's feeling _______.

Any tips welcome.

I love that book, too.

I often say,"It looks to me as if you are ______________".

"It sounds like you're feeling _____."

"I wonder if you might be feeling ____."

"You know, sometimes when *I'm* grumpy, it's because I ______."

Okay, I haven't read this, but I'm wondering why you don't ask?
