CNM referral in Marin/Bay Area

Hello Ladies!!

I'm looking for a CNM in Marin county (north Bay area) for the remainder of my pg. I would like to find someone who is accessible on a regular basis (i.e. is on-time for appts/returns phone calls, etc), and is open to and knowledgeable of homeopathic remedies during pg.

btw: looking for a cnm due to insurance considerations...

I'll likely also be looking for a doula in the near future and will likely start my search once I am comfortable with my new midwife, but I'd welcome any recommendations for doulas as well!

I know there are several good ones in the Marin area, but I can't remember any of their names. Best bet is to call Birthways, which is an East Bay referral place, and ask for a Marin county referral agency. Their website is http://www.birthways.org and their phone number is (510) 869-2797.

I know that there is a perinatologist in San Rafael who has CNMs that work out of his office, but I'm not sure if that's what you'd be interested in. I think his office is called "Women's Health Services" -- the phone number for that place is (415) 507-4030.

You could also try the CA Assoc. of Midwives (800) 829-5791 (though I realize you want a personal recommendation - sorry I can't help with that) Good luck!

Oh, the only doula I know of is a friend of mine who recently got trained as a doula so doesn't have much experience but is a wonderfully warm, nurturing person who wants more experience (she's only done a couple of births), I would definitely use her if I were pregnant. I think she will make a great doula. PM me if you want her number (as I might not remember to check this post). She lives in Marin.
