Hi all,
Just my monthly check-in to say I'm still pumping for Helen! I can't believe we've made it this far.
With the 12-month mark coming up fast I've been thinking about trying to get Helen BFing again so we can keep going past a year - I KNOW I am done pumping so that's the only way. I've tried offering my breast a few times this week but she still turns away. With 8 teeth :yikes: I'm not so sure that I want her to latch!!! We'll see...
With the return of AF I'm really stumbling across the finish line... my supply has dwindled to about 7oz a day. :( :irked: Still, I'm glad to give her what little I have.
Here's to THREE MORE MONTHS!!!

Thank you so much mamas!
Heather - I *know* you can do it! I read your birth story and it had me in tears - you are such a strong, fierce mama! DD also had a NICU stay - she bled out through the placenta at 38 wks and needed multiple transfusions - and also made a faster/better recovery than anyone expected. That was basically the end of our BFing relationship (and my supply). I'm still grieving the loss of that special bond but am just SO happy to have her here with me.
Here's to us bottle-nursers and our miraculous little girls! :Hug

Good for you!!!! :D
I also been pumping for a year now. Mine just started taking the breast a few months back, and believe me before that she would flat out refuse. She just may surprise you one day!
Congratulations, to both of you for your pumping!
I am a graduated EP'er. My second had a cleft palate, and I pumped for a year with her. I weaned myself from the pump when she was a year.
I'm now pregnant with #3, and Emily has decided that she wants to try nursing, now and again! She got the idea from the AP group we hang out with. She's seeing lots of nursing babies and toddlers, and wants to know what all the fuss is about. I'm hoping she'll really start nursing when the baby is born and my milk comes back in!

Congrats! That's awesome! I don't know if I'd have the staying power for that, I admire your perseverance.
I was on a pupming yahoo group a while back and I remember them giving tips to get a ep baby to the breast. I think the 2 biggest tips were to go in the battub together and the other was to try to sneak the breast in while the baby is half asleep. HTH! :)
