If one is to transmit sensitive information, such as one's phone number and address, for instance, that they want kept private, is it safer and more private to do so through a PM or an email?

I have no idea, which is why I'm asking.

IIRC, vBulletin has a way for admins (not trying to implicate anyone) can read PM's that are made through the board. Like I said though, I'm not really sure because I haven't messed with my vB in a while, but I think e-mail would be more private.

Yeah, there was a big debate about that particular point on the question and suggestion board.

I was asking in a more general sense-- assuming you trust the mods of a board-- which is less likely to be viewed by a 3rd party somewhere out there on the internet-- emails or PMs?

If you're talking MDC pms are not accessible by admin. I'm on another board where they ARE accessible, but the programme tells you right up front.
