I need a little advice. I really love my dr...but he does not accept our supplimental insurance so we will have to pay a lot out of pocket. If I get another dr I wont have to pay a penny, but that means starting out all over with a new dr, who hopefully will be as good about keeping an eye on my "high risk" pregnancy. Im hesitant to change since he was great last time around. any concern I had he said just come into the office, dont even call (I had movement issues with #1). Im just afraid the new dr wont be so keen to keep an eye on things. I not only have high blood pressure, am over weight, but today I had some bleeding. ARG! What would you do? (keeping in mind the money issue is a HUGE issue)

I'm in a similar situation. My OB is great and is in a practice with 8 OBs so I figure they will have experience. But I've read that I should get a maternal-fetal specialist. I figure I'll ask my dad (a nurse) and his girlfriend (a head nurse at a NICU) their opinion.
As for the $, how much more would it be w/o the secondary ins? Also, since he was so nice maybe you can explain the situation and he can recommend someone. I know a lot of the GPs around her are very helpful when they stop taking a type of insurance.

I think I would at least go thru and schedule some interviews with diff. OBs....then if you cannot find one that you gelled with, stay with who you are most comfortable with, but at least you tried :) Who knows, maybe you will find someone that you like even more....Always a possibility.
