So, I talked over th ephone with one of the woman whose baby's birth will be a cert. requirement tonight....and it wen twell. I feel like I kinda was nervous...but I'm new at this... BUT I think I made a mistake....what do you think:
We were talking about birthing classes, hynobirthing in particular and I said I took the class, but didn't use it the techniques b/c I was induced and was at the hospital from the begining. 'With pitocin?' she asked, nervously. 'No, Cytotek...' and then I murmered something about it being a long story and trailed off. UGH! The rest of the conversation went well.... and she's not a first time mama....was that bad? I mean, she delivered in anothe rhospital, doesn't know our midwives at this one from a personal birth experience...and that's the ONLY way I know them...I tried to be as positive as possible about them and bias (even though they kinda f***ed me over), the only negative thing was the cytotek thing...damn.
Help!

I really try my best NOT to share my birth story with my clients. If they ask, I will tell them, but I don't volunteer it unless it really seems necessary. The 2 cesarean births I've attended, I didn't tell the parents I birthed the same way until they were making the decision. Even then, I just shared with them the procedure & protocols. I even shared my scar with them!

I tell my clients that I have thoughts & opinions on births, but those are for ME & MY births.

Just my thoughts....
