sudden change in movement?

i know that the seventh month is the peak month of feeling lots of movement because the baby's much bigger but still has some room to romp around, but this is insane!
so far my pregnancy, even in terms of movement has been almost identical to my first....the average amount of movement here and there throughout the day.
well, two days ago the baby was dancing around CONSTANTLY. i don't think it's an exageration to say that in 24 hours, i think it was still for maybe 2 hours. and big movements, flops, pokes, kicks, the whole deal. i was even woken up several times during the night. that NEVER happened with my other pregnancy. yesterday s/he settled down a little, but still MUCH more movement than normal. i got poked so hard that my whole body flinched and i jumped right out of my seat!!

i know it seems silly to actually worry about this, but i guess i'm afraid maybe the baby is upset. how would i know? i've also heard so many women say that their high-energy, high-needs kids were always very active in utero....i was kinda hoping for another mellow kid :)

My kids in-utero weren't necessarily thesame as they were extra-uterinely (wow, there'sa word for you LOL) My 1st was pretty happy and mellow in-utero and was the same as an externalbaby. He had very active periods though andliterally danced his way out of me, kicking the whole time I was in labor :) My 2nd was pretty mellow too but liked to do different things. My 1st played with me in-utero. My 2nd didn't do that much but he loved to jiggle around and move for people. As an external newborn, he was very peaceful. By a fewmonths though, you could tell he was a completely different child than his brother. My 1st was Mr. Docile for YEARS. My 2nd...when he was about 3 mos I said he'd break a bone by age 5 and go to the ER by age 3. At age 21 mos he went to the ER fora leg that he broke in three places. I saw it coming, justnot that soon!

So anyway, in-utero babies aren't necessarily the same as when they come out. I wouldn't worry. Pregnant women tend to worry to much! Moving too little -- worry. Moving too much -- worry. The one baking now is very active most of the time, loves to dance and bounce and stick its butt out. :) This one has a sleep pattern that matches mine, my boys did not. THey liked to be awake when I was asleep. This one sleeps when I sleep. Wilthat carry over? Gosh I hope so! hehe Rythm iskicking as I type this :) One other thing -- theonly way to really know if your baby is unhappy is to really listen to it. Talk to your babyand spend lots of time talking ANDlistening. They do talk to you, but you have to really listen sometimes. Sometimesthey talk through their dreams, sometimes through movements. I can tellwhen my baby is unhappy about something. For instance, if it doesn'tlike a position I am laying in, itwill fidget and act uncomfortable, so I move and then it resumes happiness. I hope that you will rest assured and not worry to omuch. Enjoy the little dance party, nothing is as cool as watching your baby dance while itsstill inside:)
