This isn't for me. I have a friend who is, I think about 10 or 11 weeks along, and seems to be having a much much harder time this time around. She has two sons, oldest is 8, youngest is 4, and last year she suffered a loss at about 7 weeks. This pregnancy she is vomiting so much her OB has put her on Zofran, and she has basically dropped from the face of the planet. Every time I call she sounds just awful. She says none of her previous pregnancies were like this. Why would she get it so badly this time? Could it be twins or something else going on? Is there anything I should suggest to her or any way I can help her through this? I'm hoping it gets better soon, as she approaches the second trimester.

I am having my 4th pregnancy(this will be our second child) and this is my 1st HG pregnancy. A good resource ishttp://www.helpher.org, which has helpful suggestions for those with HG and friends and family of those with HG. Above all, be a listening ear, ask how you can help her out, and do not suggest crackers and gingerale.
