I am thinking of becoming a Certified Childbirth Educator. I still haven't decided which group to become certified with and have found many great threads on that in this forum. I had a few other questions for those who are already educators.

- Who do you teach? How do you find students?
- Where do you do your teaching?
- What else should I know regarding the business aspect of being a self-employed educator?
- Does anyone teach in their home? Are there any restrictions or things to be aware of if I'm planning on teaching at home?
- Do you have any good resources to share?

THANKS!

I am a student in CAPPA's CCE Distance program. I too am asking the same questions. Regarding the business of becoming a CCE, the first thing I would tell you to do is call or visit your local City Hall and found out their requirements and prices for a business license as well as regulations regarding home businesses, i.e. teaching classes out of your home. There may be zoning laws, etc. Good luck! :)
