A little background...ds is 4 1/2 and we've been co-sleeping since birth. At age 2 1/2 he decided he wanted his own room and bed. That lasted until about age 3 then he came back. Since then it's been mostly him begining the night in his room then coming into ours anytime between 2 and 6am...with a few months sleeping in a nest on the floor next to our bed.
So the last week he's been coming in to our room around midnight each night. This is after several months of sleeping the entire night in his room. I always ask if there was a specific reason why he came in - he is welcome by the way - I just want to help him if he's scared, cold, etc.
So last night he came in around 1am. This morning I asked him why he came in so early and this was his explanation..... "Well mom. Jack (his fish) thinks I'm a big scary monster and he just isn't comfortable with me in the room. < sigh > so I just have to leave!"
This kid cracks me up!!!!
