:shy i'm asking, :o because i can't button my pants at all and am squished enough that i'm thinking of taking my maternity clothes out of storage, and i'm only 4w1d today. when i had my first, i remember i was in maternity stuff by 10w. i'm a small woman, and with my first i gained about 50 lbs.
anyway, i got an early + hpt, and now i'm pooching out. anyone else been through this? am i just going to get huge fast and stay that way?
oh ... btw, i have not gained a single pound ... i just have gained what seems like inches on my belly area. does anyone kwim?

I was about 5 weeks when I started to notice that my pants didn't fit anymore. I had to completely switch to elastic. By 10 weeks I was in maternity clothes and I've already gained 15 pounds.

I started wearing maternity clothes at about 16 weeks give or take... prior to that I had to wear my looser fitting items.

With my second I did get bigger much faster---like the hips just went as soon as we got the positive test.
This time I didn't need to pull my maternity stuff out until 18w-and now a week later I definitely have a belly.

This is my first, and I was in maternity (or looser/bigger) pants by 14 weeks, and bigger shirts by 18 weeks. I started gaining weight at 17 weeks and haven't stopped yet! (I'm due in 9 days) my total weight gain so far is somewhere around 33ish pounds....

My first? Honestly I was 5 months before I was in maternity. Now granted my clothing is generally loose in the waist (I can't stand constriction).
But this one???? I am 6 weeks and already sweats are more comfortable. :shake

This is my first, but I was rather uncomfortable in nonstretchy things by 8 weeks or so. However, I hardly have any maternity clothes still, I'm wearing clothes that are just larger than my normal size (by about 3 sizes :lol)

I did that with my fourth baby. It was more bloating I think, and when I uped my water intake, it went down. But I looked 4 months pregnant by 5 weeks. By 8 weeks, I was looking normal.
And I only gained 30 pounds with that pregnancy, so don't worry!

my tummy pooches out every month before AF. I have an extremely enlarged uterus, though. By eight or ten weeks, I was in maternity clothes instead of just my "fat" pants. By four months, everyone was asking me if I was having twins.

I've heard some multiple time mommas here say they pooched with #2 the moment they got the +. :lol
I'm a first timer, and I pooched.... well, by 8 weeks you could tell. Really, by 6 weeks, if you knew me and looked.

I haven't really pooched out yet, and I'm 9w4d. I think last time I started pooching around 12 weeks. I am long torsoed, but I get really, really big. I'm expecting to pooch out a teensy bit earlier, but not much. I was wearing maternity or bigger pants by 14 weeks, and by 20 weeks I put away all my non-maternity stuff. By about 7 months, I looked full term and had people asking me if I was overdue/having twins/etc, but I stayed (approximately) the same size until DD was born.

I got "thick" by about 14 weeks with child #1 and a small "bump" by 18 weeks
I got thick by 10 weeks with child #2 and a bump by about 16 weeks.
At 4 weeks the baby is the size of a grain of rice, but your digestive system may be slowing down, you may be retaining water, bloaty, constipated, etc etc... so all that is going to thicken things up.
take care

yep ... i think my system started slowing down pretty much immediately. as i was telling my sister the other day, my earliest pg sign seems to be getting all backed up. :o
