I'm a doula-to-be and I've gotten lots of requests to attend women's births for my training. Starting the new year, I have about one birth per month untill May. My problem is, I have one woman due the 20th of Jan who I haven't heard back from for several days about setting up a prenatal meeting and one woman due the 26th of Jan who just got in touch with me.
What should I do?

First signed contract, first served in my book BUT I always give the women who contact me first a courtesy call just saying no pressure at all but that you have another woman around her due date that is also interested and that she needs to tell you if she still wants you or not so that you can book the other woman if she is no longer interested.

Best,

I would take both clients. This is based on the fact that I have a partner and lots of backup. We often attend each others clients. And we come in to spell each other or are available for consult during labor and often we work in tandem, both attending a birth together which has been lovely several times.
