Just wondering what everyone has been craving or having adversions to.

No adversions for me but I've been craving chicken fried rice. We went out for Chinese on Friday (my idea of course :lol ), the rice didn't have chicken, but it was still soooooo good :) .

Roasted chicken!!! This is very strange for me, since we are a mostly vegetarian household. I bought a little rotisserie and have bought two free-range, organic chickens and roasted them and made mashed potatoes, and squash with them. I am getting quite a kick out of this, as I am much more of a lentil/tofu/edamame sort of person. But, I find myself fantasizing about those two chickens I made. Ha! Most of my cravings are protein-related during pg, but this time it's not almond butter.

I haven't really had any cravings this pregnancy. I had aversions in the first trimester, but I think that was related to my GD more than anything. That's one thing people always ask me, or warn DH about??!!!! Like I am some giant monster that will eat him if he doesn't give me the food that will satisfy my craving!

It is a good thing that I haven't had any unusual late night cravings. Our in-town grocery closes at 9:00pm, and the grocery 30 minutes away closes at 11:00pm. DH would have to drive 1.5 hours to get me pistachio ice cream and pickles at two in the morning! :LOL

Currently, I'd really like an Auntie Anne's pretzel. And sugar, anything with sugar! I keep craving desserts and chocolate, when normally I'm fine with something once or twice a month. That's my clue to eat more protien.

Yesterday at work someone mentioned Cherry Pie. That was it. My body then realised that if I didn't eat Cherry Pie, that I would spontaneously combust. So I did!

The cherry pie, not the combustion. :D

French Toast with Sweet Tea was one the other day. I just NEEDED it. They're pretty random, but sweet tea and the crushed ice that they serve in drinks at Sonic are my main cravings. Not too bad.

I've had a lot of cravings, though. Usually a specific thing. Like a Potato egg and cheese taquito from Whataburger. Or a Chocolate Covered Cherry Blizzard from Dairy Queen. Stuff like that, that you can only get from one place.

Oh, I forgot, the aversion:

BASIL!!! I used to love basil, but now the smell of SO putting pesto on his pasta makes me want to hurl. :irked: I miss it!

I have crazy cravings for baked goods, only raw. I want raw pie crust, cookie dough, brownie batter, even pancake batter! It's very strange. I gave in and had some cookie dough once and it was sooo good! I still have the same aversions as the first trimester: beans, eggs, red meat, anything with vinegar. Yuck! Just thinking about these items makes me feel sick!

I can'tthink of most of them, so I'll have to edit as I remember...

Aversions -- Silk. I love chocolate Silk and I can't drink it.

Cravings -- chocolate and sugar, sometimes salt. I'm really into eggs, apples, pears.

I'll have to edit because I know I have a ton more aversions and craves. I'm just really tired right now.

Ice cream and slushies are a must have on a daily basis for me now! This weekend I actually bought 2 quarts of chocolate oats cream, two containers of Cinnimon swirl ice cream, and one container of pumpkin ice cream. So I have 5 big containers of ice cream in the freezer!

No wonder I've gained so much weight! :lol

Tara, eggs for me, too. Yum! We are also going through many pears around here. They are absolutely sublime this time of year. What healthy things to crave!!

I’ve been thinking (obsessing) about the bags of Halloween candy stashed away in the coat closet. But I’ve been good and not given in. Someone mentioned beef barley soup and I could not stop thinking about it until I finally bought all the ingredients to make up a batch. I’ve never craved this before nor made it either so it’s a new experience for me.

I am more of a salty food person over sugary but sugary goodies sound VERY applealing to me. I’ve eaten more donuts in the last few months than I’ve eaten in years. Mmmm, Bavarian cream. Oh, I’ve been watching out for those 4 for $5 Goldfish Cracker sales. Fruit, especially apples are doing it for me now as well.

I’m going on a retreat next week where you’re on a vegan diet for a week. I fell all worried about the lack of snack foods. Crazy huh?

There are lots of vegan snacks to be had, Hypechick! Prezels, trail mix, fruit and veggies. I'm sure you could take some with you, and keep a little knapsack handy with goodies in it!

I'm having a sudden dislike for peanut butter. It's just turning me off!

Aversion - what's that? There is NOTHING this baby won't eat!

As far as cravings, the one consistent thing is meat. I've totally broken all of the meat rules I've had since 1998 for this kid. Oh well, must mean I need the protein or iron or something.

And I've been freaky thirsty.

Cravings: Eggs- preferably fried with the yolk still a tad runny so I can mop it up with a bagel :yum . Vanilla Yogurt. Clementine Oranges. Mango Lassi- I need to either learn how to make them or have the Indian resturant give me a bulk discount. Grilled Sea Scallops with lemon butter and potatoes au gratin from one place in town. And for the past three days I've been wanting a Chocolate Malt Milkshake SOOOOOOO bad!

Aversions: They're nothing compared to my first trimester nasties but garlic and balsamic vinegar are just not fit for human consumption.

I would also like to say that I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving when I can binge on mashed potatotes and gravy and stuffing :love Where's the drooling all over the floor smilie?

Sweeny-- Ooh.. Mango Lassi!! Yummmy!!!!! The only recipe I know of is a Weight Watchers recipe to make these. I can't remember which book it is in, though. :p. Isn't it basically yogurt, milk, mangoes and sugar?? I REALLY want a mango lassi, but the nearest place is 2 hours away :( . I love to get those with samosas ;) . Best $4 I can spend!

I make mango lassi quick and easy with yogurt and frozen mango chunks. I think it would taste better though, if you thawed the mango first, or used fresh. And adding mango juice would make it sweeter.
