Hello and a question from the newly pregnant

Just stopping in to say hi from the July 06 Mamas! :wave (I know, crazy isn't it - July already!)

We are just getting started in our DDC and are compiling a list of things we'd like to do in the next nine months. We've thought of birth bead swaps and belly picture threads, but I keep thinking that there are more fun things to do. If you ladies have the chance, will you please tell me what DDC activity/tread you enjoyed the most?

I really liked the gift swap. I was able to participate in the 3rd trimester swap, I believe they were done with each trimester. We exchanged gifts for Mommy or baby and chose our partners based on the lists of items they wanted.

The trimester swaps are awesome. The weekly chat threads are the only thing keeping me sane at this point.
I can't believe there is a July 2006 DDC already. Where has the time gone?

I also liked the gift swap -- since I made out like a bandit (thanks to babykoass) - but also in getting my gift together for another mama, who requested belly-casting supplies -- it got me motivated to do one myself, and I'm really glad that I did.

Congrats to you -- I can't imagine having to wait til July to meet the babe (heehee) -- just kidding -- I'm sure you are right where you need to be but there has been a lot of impatient talk on this board lately.

Thanks for the congrats. :love I am right there with you on the impatience, July is sooooo far away! You all with have 7 and 8 month olds by then - wow!

I personally LOVED the birth bead swap. It was sooo cool to get beads from each mama and little notes with well wishes and explainations of the beads. It was awesome!

I loved the bead swap and cant wait to wear my bracelet during labor. The gift swaps were also really nice, I love both of the gifts I received (we did 2nd and 3rd tri) and think about the mamas who sent the stuff to me whenever I look at the items. Both are a neat way to stay connected to the people in the DDC.

The weekly chats are a nice way to get to know one another as well.

ETA: If you do a bead swap, you might want to do it in the 2nd trimester. It took awhile for everyone to get their beads sent (life happens!) and we had to cut it off without a few mamas because time ran short and babies started coming. So I wouldnt wait too long for that one!
