Thought I would start a new thread for this week.

Not a whole lot going on here. Still having occasional food aversions, and feeling tired.

Occasionally feel something going on down there - which I am hoping is baby and not some weird twitch. :lol

I have an appointment with the midwives that I am switching to next Monday. I am so excited - they are great! :D And then I have my final appointment with the OB on the 30th for the 20w u/s. And that is the last I have to see of him. Which makes me feel much calmer.

DH and I are starting the house hunting process...hoping that we can get into something around the end of our lease...which would eliminate the downstairs neighbors for the birth (something which I really like), and maybe we can get the washer and dryer out of the basement...which would cut down on the number of spiders I have to deal with. {shudder}

Okay...gotta clean the nightmare house....

Hi all!

Good luck on the house hunt, Adina. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you find something perfect!

Congrats on the news, Stayathomemommy! How exciting for all of you!

Well not much new around here. We just got back from a trip to see my dad. I was convinced almost the entire time that something was wrong because I had a hard time feeling the baby, but now that we are settled back at home, the movement has been fairly consistent. Phew!

Dh is home today, so I got to go to the gym and chill out for a bit -- never heard of on a Monday! Right now I 've got some bread rising and loads of laundry with my name on it, but dh and ds are making flannel duvet covers, so I have a bit of competition for the 'domestic goddess' title today! :lol Anyway, I think I am going to poke around here for a bit longer. Have a great day everyone!

Wow, lots and lots of boys coming in April! :lol I haven't even had my ultrasound yet (21 November!) but I'm pretty sure that I'm carrying another. :lol Although.. all of my dreams have been about girl things. :shrug Strange.

I'm PM'ing people about the gift swap right now, and I should have my own cards ready to go out before the end of the month. I've decided to make beads of my own and, if I do say so myself, they're going to be incredibly freaking cool. :thumb I've also started a pair of toe-up, wool blend tights for BooBah as an experiment. :D We'll see how those turn out, but I'm thinking that they'll be a-freaking-dorable. :lol

Nothing really new pregnancy-wise. I'm feeling more pregnant than fat these days, but I still don't really look pregnant. I'm fat enough that people would feel too nervous to ask me when I'm due. :lol BooBah is obsessed with my belly, BeanBean with the baby within. He told me the other day that "boys need to get a uterus, because it's not fair that we don't have one." :love Ain't he sweet? :lol I promised him a book on human reproduction from the library. :D

I think I am having a boy too. :) Will find out on the 30th. :D And here I said I would never want to know....Ah, well, I may only get to do this part once...might as well. :)

I hope we find a good house...My dream would be to find a cheap house in need of some work...and finance enough to remodel the kitchen, and make sure that there is a mudroom/laundry room right off the kitchen. I never want to have my washer/dryer in the basement...ever again. Of course, I would also like a fireplace. :lol I hope we get to look soon. I am looking forward to seeing what is out there. I am not looking forward to our rent/house payment going up though. :shake But how nice it would be to be able to paint the walls...or pull out carpet...or put in new tile. :D Or plant a garden!! :D

Congrats on the baby boy stayathomemommie!!! :D

Had our second midwife appt today. I just love her! I am about 18 weeks and we are going to schedule a ultrasound in a few weeks so we can see if its a boy or girl. :) Still planning a HBAC and DD is getting excited and hoping for a girl. I have one more doula client left until I am done for this pg. I had a birth last Tues and it was so hard. I was only there for a little while, about 9 hours, but I was so exhausted. Looking foward to the bead and card swaps. Congrats on all the little boys! Hope everyone is doing well.

Good luck househunting Adina :)

Congrats on your little boy stayathomemommy :D

I'm feeling really tired this week, when is this second trimester energy going to kick in? or maybe it doesn't when you are up at 6am running about after an active 3year old :lol

I'm 18+weeks now, anyone else feel like its going so fast, it seems like only yesterday I got my bfp!

Congrats, Stayathomemommy. :D Lots of boys here!

Well... I'm starting to feel like I have too much tush. I'm getting these rolls on my back too beneath my bra that I never had before. Is this something that just happens when you're pregnant? Ugh. So anyways... I'm taking my tush on over to the exercise forum. Now that I'm hardly ever sick anymore, it's time for me to get serious about exercise. !!!

Woohoo! I'm 20 weeks today!!! :bouncy Halfway to my due date! :balloons

I haven't posted in awhile because I was sick, and now dd has a bad case of croup. Poor little Anna has been 'barking' so bad :( I'm definitely feeling pregnant, and I'm officially in 'nesting' mode :lol I've already got lists of projects that I want done before the baby comes, which I did when I was pg with my dd. Our house is in need of alot of remodel and quite a bit of the work already done got done in my last pregnancy (mostly by my poor DH) :wink I'm going to go to Home Depot this morning to pick out a fun paint technique to try on the bedroom wall. I've been wanting to do that for ages!

I'll try to stop in more so I can keep up with you all. I can't believe how many boys we are going to have in April! I've already been buying lots of cute boy clothes, and we've been telling Anna that she is going to have a baby brother. Of course...when we tell her that she shakes her head and says "NO!" :lol

I am right there with you FreeSpiritMama! When will I get that energy?! Sometimes I have enough energy for a single project. Today... it is laundry. My poor body doesn't want to do much lately except grow a baby!

I'm so excited for Thanksgiving! YUM!

I had my u/s yesterday and everything looked normal, and placenta was well away from the cervix and posterior which gives me a lot of peace of mind-- hopefully that will be the last I see of any med pro this pregnancy, which definitely helps me gestate in peace (and getting that u/s without having to go to an OB appointment was a bit hairy, but it happened-- thanks to my wonderful mw). We aren't finding out the sex this time, so we'll see who makes his/her appearance in April, though judging by what's going on in this group I guess I should lean towards boy.

I also went to chiro for the first time yesterday-- it turns out the chiro had a homebirth herself and knows Webster and pelvic alignment for pregnancy and has some familiarity with posterior positioning issues, so hopefully seeing her will do some good, or at the very least improve my bad posture, ha.

Just found out today I got a promotion-- a lot earlier than I expected to, so overall, I have to say I'm having a good second trimester so far. :)

I too have projects I want to get done and I seem to add to the list every day. The energy to do them is another story. I am lucky if my dishes get done lately. :( Midwife wants me to try to eat more protein or protein shakes and see if I get more energy. I have only gained one lb since last appt 5 wks ago so she thinks I just need more calories.

PheobNFam: I am looking foward to Thanksgiving too! It will be a weird holiday for us though, our first with no other family coming over. :)

aprilushka: Congrats on the promotion!!!

Well, we had our u/s today, and because I always like to go along with the crowd, :mischief we are having a boy, too!

Everything thing looked good, except that the umbiblical cord has 2 vessels instead of 3, which can be an indicator for problems. So I'm freaking out a little. The doctor was nice and totally downplayed it, but now it's there, you know? We have a good friend who had the same thing, and their dd is totally fine. But what if my babe is the 1% that's not? I think I just need to be stressed today, and I'll feel better tomorrow. I see my m/w on Thursday and she usually always makes me feel better.

Sorry to be a downer.
Congrats on the excellent u/s's Stayathomemommy and aprilushka!

We went to our chiro yesterday for the first time since I got pregnant, too! It was great! I probably could go every day. :)

I posted this is the thread I started yesterday, but I'll repost it here since this is the official thread now. :)

We had our 20 week US this yesterday, with a very uncooperative baby! :lol It took quite a while to finish the survey, the baby was in a bad position and the tech couldn't get all the pictures of the heart she needed. To my knowledge, everything looked fine to me, no red flags went up. (of course I'm not trained or anything.) She finally got the pictures after I emptied my bladder and shifted into innummerable positions, so I don't have to go back again. :thumb

However, we decided to go ahead and find out the gender... I *wish* I could be strong enough to resist, but my "planning" urge took over, and I wanted to know if I was a boy or girl, so I'd have time to work on my diaper stash! :o Anyway, we found out IT'S A GIRL!!! :heartbeat I'm so excited because I did not have a sister growing up, and now my dd will have a sister. :D I had a feeling in the past week or so it was a girl, because whenever I talk to 2 yo dd about the baby she always says "Baby Sister" but NEVER "Baby Brother". So I felt like *she* knew. ;)

So that's my update for this week. Oh, and I'm finally starting to actually fit in my maternity clothes now, or else I've broken the jeans in, I'm not sure. :)

Nice to hear how everyone is doing. We have our ultrasound on November 24th. DH is nervous because he has a big presentation for work the next day. I REALLY want to find out the sex, but DH doesn't. The problem with me finding out is that I can't keep secrets, but I just HAVE to know! I suspect it is a boy, because the spiritual moments I have had about this pregnancy suggest it is a boy. Last time I knew our daughter was a girl, and I was right!
But I want to know for sure, long before this child is born, just to make sure I am right, or if it is a girl, I don't want to be really surprised when she is born! I want to be prepared, if it is at all possible! I know sometimes the ultrasound doesn't allow parents to know for sure. DH is asking me to put it in an envelope and only open it when we're both ready, but man! I want to know now!! :jumpers:

The ultrasound is around the time of the milestone of when we lost Heather, our daughter (and only previous pregnancy). I am really counting on the ultrasound giving me good news.

Each time I feel baby flutter or wiggle in my womb, I feel more and more hopeful for this pregnancy. I have been saying that I didn't want to buy anything for baby before he/she is born, I want him/her to "prove" that he/she is coming first.

but something a friend said this weekend is in my "noggin", asking me to reconsider, and i wonder about getting a few things now!! I have good feelings about baby the more I feel him/her move. I know deep inside myself that things are okay. It would actually take some convincing to tell me that things aren't okay. I like that i can say that now.

I wish DH could feel baby move, because I want to set his mind at ease in the way that mine has by feeling the fluttering and wiggling! A friend suggested another month or so.

I admire the way some of you are very appreciative of your bodies! I will hold that example when I look at myself in the mirror and think, "weeellllll.....".

It is so strange that when I am not pregnant people ask me all the time if I am, and now that I am, only 2 people have asked me! Weird. I am shorter, so i expect I am looking larger than some, so I expect people would talk to me about it.

I am so thankful for diclectin! Without it, I am not sure i could leave the house! I am so thankful that I have a schedule worked out for eating that in combo with diclectin, I rarely get sick anymore. I know that I may be on it for the rest of the pregnancy, and I am prepared for that. I have a system, and can sort of relax into it now, after spending a few weeks getting used to it again. I listened to inlaws who suggested I might not need it anymore, and I got sick. It took me a week++ to feel safe again with my schedule. Now its down pat again.
I like to feel safe in my own body, and this really helps.

Congrats to everyone who's just found out the gender!

I'm in the camp with more energy, although I could easily take a nap every day still. But overall I feel good and am getting things done around the house (even got the living room painted). My house is looking much cleaner on a daily basis than it was a few weeks ago, so that makes me happy. :D

My update...

I went to Marshalls the other day and as I was checking out, the girl behind the counter asked how far along I was (and I know that I look - and measure - large for my dates). I said, "uhhh, 18 weeks." I swear that her jaw just about hit the floor. She practically screamed, "OMG! I thought you were going to say something like 30 weeks! You look about as big as I looked at 8 months!" I just had to laugh (and I don't look 8 months pg for sure, btw). She said, "Maybe there's twins in there." I said, "Well, maybe. I won't know b/c I'm not having an ultrasound." She says in horror, "What will you DO if there are???" I said, "Well, I guess I'll have 2 babies then." lol People are funny. I suppose if I get a whole lot of her reaction I might not find it so amusing, but on that day it just made me laugh.

Last night (I think) dh & I both got to see my belly actually move from the baby kicking. That was cool. Other than that, no real update to share.

Funny story, lovehomebirhting. Although I can see it gets annoying. I'm thinking of lying to people when they start to guess how far along I am.

Congrats to Betsy and Jenai on finding out the genders. :) And congrats to Aprilushka on the promotion. :) I want one too! :lol

Well, this evening I'm going to go visit my Dad. He had some major surgery late yesterday (over 3 hours) and I'm going to go see how he's doing. Hopefully there weren't any complications. I know he's concerned about recovery and his quality of life after this surgery, and so I'm wishing him the best today.

Also kind of on my mind. I'm worried since I haven't felt the baby move for about a week. I had one day there last week, where I felt the baby move around like crazy. He felt like a snake in my tummy, and then nothing really. This has me thinking about all the little things I've done in the meantime that could have been bad for the baby. I lifted a large object at a home supplies store... Of course it was not on my tummy. I used my knees. And I had one day where I drank two iced teas, which is probably too much caffeine for the baby. But I know it's silly for me to worry, when it doesn't help anything. Still it's hard not to wonder what's going on.

Kate ~ try not to worry, my baby is also sporadic with movements at the moment which I think is totally normal for the stage of pregnancy we are at. I hope your Dad is ok and heals quickly :love

Kate - that same thing happened to me a few weeks back. I totally panicked, but movement has since picked up again. I think it's very normal to have periods of quiteness - especially this (relatively) early on. Nothing you mentioned sounds like you put your baby at risk to me - not even the 2 ice teas. :D My episode of no movement occured just after I got overheated/dehydrated and almost passed out. The baby was all over the place just as that occured, then nothing for a week or two. It was very hard, but all is okay, as I'm sure it is with you. :hug And I hope you're dad's surgery went off without incident.

PheobNFam
11-16-2005, 03:30 PM
Yeah, i catch myself thinking, "When is the last time he moved??!" often. Luckily it's usually just earlier that same day :lol
I got to see him kicking my belly while I was in the bathtub! He kicked 3 times where I could actually see it. I wanted to call for DH, but the baby always stops when i call for DH.. :irked:

I had a big energy spirt yesterday afternoon, so today I have very little energy. And what's worse is I'm BORED with no energy to do anything! :irked:

But... I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow. Time does fly!

I tried to do some cleaning today, but I had two small children following me very closely and making it all but impossible to get any real work done. It's a major bummer, because the rooms I was working in don't have light fixtures or lamps so there's no light and you can't work in them after about 4:30pm. :( Yeah, lamps are definately on our "list of things to buy when we get some money" but since we need a washing machine... :shrug Argh. Ever feel like your entire life revolves around money? Being a grownup sucks.

AdinaL
11-16-2005, 07:32 PM
I do....being a grownup does suck. Between the trying to buy a house, or waiting for a year (not that things will be better in a year) and the holidays and the midwife and....and.....and........bah. I would like to win a small lottery - say 500K? :lol That would solve sooo many problems. Heck - even 100K would fix it all. I don't want mega millions - just enough to be abl eto grocery shop each week without having to put it on a credit card, or worry that we won't be able to pay our car payment or student loan because I "chose" to eat. :irked:

AllisonK

Eilonwy: I so understand trying to clean with kids. Mine are two and four so it is so hard. One thing that they love to do is spray water. I give them each a spray bottle of water and a rag. They go around and spray things and wipe them off. Keeps them busy and I can actually clean something. :lol

I am so sick of worrying about money!!! My DH is in Masters school right now so we are living from quarter to quarter on student loans and scholarships. I cannot wait until June when he is finished.

Also, How do I get one of those cool week ticker things I see on peoples signatures??? Can you tell I am computer literate "those thingy's" :)

I am RIGHT there with you guys about being sick of worrying about money!! DH started up his own business this year. We've been waiting for it to support us now since he started. We finally maxed our credit cards (not a good feeling) a few weeks back. My cloth diaper business helped for a bit, but I've been slacking. Luckily there's a light at the end of the tunnel. DH started a really big project last week that should really be good for us financially. We'll see, but already things are looking up. I will be so releived when I can go grocery shopping again! Thank goodness for food storage!!

I'm not even going to try to clean today, I'm just going to snicker when Mike gives me :censored about it later. :shake

Mike wanted to get a washing machine this week. A guy he works with knows a guy who refurbishes washing machines to sell. The problem is, Mike has no idea where the :censored the guy is, and the one at work wasn't there this week. So he's been telling me all week that we can't make any other plans because we have to buy a washer, but there has been *zero* progress on that front. :eyesroll :irked: Mike, of course, doesn't understand why this makes me want to smother him with a pillow while he sleeps. :eyesroll A friend pointed out two Leap Pads (prospective Channukah gifts for the kids) on the Trading Post for very reasonable prices, but I needed to talk to Mike before I could buy them. He said, "Well, if we don't get a washer this week we wont' get one this month at all, and probably not next month." Um, yeah, okay, but I've seen absolutely *nothing* to indicate that we might actually *get* a washing machine this week other than in your dreams!!!! :irked: So I said yes to the Leap Pads-- that's one problem *solved*. Argh, I'm so ready to strangle him!

Do men do these things on purpose, just to piss us off?! I'm so ready to smack him for so many reasons. :eyesroll

Hi ladies!

I know I am WAY behind on my update this week, but I have just felt "blah" and I haven't felt like even reading all the updates! I read them today, though... I amnot gonna poat replies, would take too long! LOL

Anyway, there isn't much to update this week. Just more of the same... Feeling icky off and on, having NO energy, feeling my little one beebop all over (kind of like a pinball! This kid is all over! Is this kid is this active after birth... I'm in trouble! LOL), trying to find things to keep my 3 yo busy, still waiting to hear from my state's health care system to find out if we are going to get some help, putting my car into the shop so as to stretch our money out even further and putting MORE stress on me!!!!!!!! Etc...... I am SOOO freaking sick of money problems! And then DH has to pay for school coming up on Dec. 13th... NICE hit right befre Christmas, don't you think???

Anyway, just feeling kind of depressed this week due to finances....

I think I'm feeling a lot like you, Kerri. Finances are getting me down. I'm already REALLY tired, and thinking about depressing things makes it worse. I was SO tired today. I took a nap in the morning and slept for 2 hours. I was a major grump when I got up. I had NO patience with Maddy. I even took a relaxing bath. I finally did get to the pile of dishes and a load or two of laundry. I watched about 45 min. of While You Were Sleeping, too.

I'm hungry, and there's nothing that sounds good to eat. :irked:

Yeah, obviously I'm suffering from some MAJOR pregnancy hormones. :flipped

I'm a bit confused as to what happened to threads and postings. I just assumed everyone is busy and doing well.

Anyways, I started a new thread here. http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?p=4156834#post4156834
