Eep! Does vitamin E oil help any? I find that when my skin gets itchy, some pregnancy massage oil usually does the trick. But maybe your baby is bigger than mine :)

Oooh, sending elastic vibes your way Desiree! :dust
I agree with Taedareth, that oil of some kind will probably help with the itchies. I get itchy sometimes and it seems to work for me. I hope maybe it would work for you, too?

I feel the same way, mine is way stretched out and parts of my stomach hurts to the touch, I feel like it is bruised. I am putting on my lotion like crazy and it helps alot with the itching. Better than my first pregnancy though, my stretchmarks were all inflamed, raised, and a bright bright red color, ack to much info. They looked hideous.
Keep lotioning your belly whenever you start to itch, helps minimize the urge.

Yeah, I do the oil and lotion thing but in a few hours, its all itchy again! LOL I have HORRID skin elasticity though. I dont think I am normal. You should see the amount of stretchmarks I have (and I had massive before I ever even got pregnant). LOL
My skin is a mess. I have stretch marks all over the place above my navel--this has happened in the past few days. And below the navel.....yuck. It is all swollen and dimply. My doctor says it's edema like in my feet. It feels like clay. I guess this is what I get for trying to carry these twins to term :)

LOL......I have them way above my belly button too and I only have a singleton in there! My stretchmarks go all the way up to my boobs (and on my boobs!) and even all the way down low on my crotch to my where my legs meet! Craziness!

I used miracle salve from Kerry's herbals 2-3 times a day everyday and never had any itchies or dryness and ended up with only 1 more small stretchmark on each side this time. My son was born at 32 weeks so made it without many that pregnancy. I also took omega fatty acids and stayed super super hydrated.

I think some people just get them and some dont. My mom has ONE. LOL I take flax oil and EPO and all I drink is water (no juice or soda) besides the occasional starbucks. LOL I have them on my arms, legs hips, butt too.......nice eh? LOL

But I DO get them! ; ) Women in our family are usually covered with them. I got many during puberty and some with my first pregnancy...would have been covered had I gone full term with him. But I really think the constant covering of my stomach with the salve this time helped. If anything..I became too obsessed with it. My belly skin looks healthier than my face! LOL Need to start working on that one now.

Hey, Desiree and others, I found this article in Midwifery Today. It talks about curing itchy pregnancy skin. It's the first main centered article. http://www.midwiferytoday.com/enews/enews0501.asp
I don't know if it will help or not, but thought I'd share nonetheless.
