When nursing at night, my 5-mo-old son now takes a couple sips, then rolls onto his back and wriggles, then takes a couple more sips...for a long time. I'm not getting any sleep. Any ideas? Help!
My 9-month-old did that for a while. What I eventually did was move him a little farther from me at night. He has urges to latch on just to feel me close to him sometimes, and I've noticed that he sleeps much better when we're farther apart. He's the one I could have put in a crib, probably. He still reaches out to make sure I'm there sometimes, but I've noticed that he now will only squirm when he truly wants/needs to nurse.
Good luck! ~Chaka

My little one does that sometimes when he's congested. I suspect that his sinuses drain (or don't drain) and that makes him uncomfortable lying that particular way.
What I do is sit up with him in bed, nurse him in my lap so he can lay on his back. That seems to stop the "sip a little" syndrome.
Good luck!
