Any Mothering moms in the Ventura, CA area?

Hi everyone! I'm having so much fun at this site so far and you all seem so cool:). I was just wondering if there is anyone in the Ventura, CA area who might want to start a playgroup with me. My name is Kari and I am a 26yr old sahm to Will (2 and a half) and Ben (1).

I'm in Ventura city. I think the full name is San Buena Ventura. I think Agora *might* be a little far, but I'm not sure. I actually just joined a group called MOMS Club of Ventura. I have only been a member for a few weeks, but everyone is really nice(it's not specifically an AP group or anything, but there are some who practice it and all the moms are really friendly and the kids aren't too rough, which I like;)). It's a national organization, and they have a Ventura chapter. If you are interested, let me know:). My email is 2boys4me@adelphia.net. I think it may be a bit of a drive for you, though.

This is so cool! I am living in Chico ,Ca (in NorCal) and dh and I are talking about moving down south to Ventura! is it a cool place to raise kids? I think I am going to go to CSU Channel Islands for grad school. Anyone heard about it, I guess its new....sounds nice. I would love to connect with other AP families. I have 2 boys 4 and 2:love

Hey, I go to CSUCI!! I love it, it's a nice little campus, they're just finally letting freshman in in the fall. Right now though it's all grad students and upper classmen! I really like that. I'm getting my Cert. to teach there and so far, so good! We live in oak park, which is in Ventura County, but almost in LA county, so I'm a little further away from Ventura. Let me know if you want to know anything else!

I love it here! It's a wonderful place to raise kids, imo. They have tons of classes for kids, nice parks, beautiful beaches, a really cool beach park, homeschooling resources if you're into that, it's not too crowded. I just moved here from L.A. a few months ago and I'm loving it already! Lots of SAHM's here too, and I have made a good friend just from hanging out at the park by my house. People are really friendly and laid back here:).

That sounds great. I too will be entering the teaching credential program at CSUCI. I would like to also get Waldorf cert. too. Just to broaden my horizons. It is great to know that it is easy to meet people. That is what I like about Chico, but it is very ag here in a valley, and I need to be near the ocean...and want to raise my boys there too (they are facisnated with surfing!:)

Just for the fun of it I was going back through MDC CA/NV threads to see if I found any Ventura or Ventura County threads. Lo and behold...

So I'm reviving this thread in hopes all of you are still around and interested in chatting and maybe even ::::gasp::::: getting together sometime!

I'm in Camarillo...moved here just last August, so still new to the area. Moved from Montreal, Quebec, my dh's native city. I'm from Kentucky originally. We have two boys who are tandem nursing. They're almost 5 and almost 2. We do lots of the AP stuff, including family bed, extended/natural bfing, non-circ, non/delayed/selective vax, EC/NIH, positive discipline, etc etc. We're househunting so may move away from Camarillo, but we'll still be in VC for sure.

Hi Jo! You're more than welcome to join the VenturaCountyAPMoms group, even if you're in *LA County* ;-) There are 43 of us so far, more joining fairly steadily. There's also the SoCalAPFamilies group, also currently hovering around 40 members, including a couple dads.
