So this stomach ache got me thinking...if it was more than just a stomach ache- say pre-term labor, am I ready to spend the last 10 weeks in bed? Um...heck no!
Oh man I have so much to do still...she doesn't have anything yet! Her diaper stash is ready though :lol
I have orders that need to be finished, clothes that need to be washed and a bathroom that needs a good scrubbing! Oh sheesh...I better get off the computer and get my rear in gear!

I'm starting to get antsy about being ready...today I started making out my lists for what I need to take to the birth center, what I need to have in the car (in case of an unplanned stay in the town where the birth center is or in case of a fast birth in the car on the way to the birth center!!), and I was getting a nearly overwhelming urge to start packing! It's a bit early for that! I will try to be completely ready (bags mostly packed and carseat in place in the car, etc) by 36 weeks, though - and that's only 6 1/2 weeks away.
At least I do pretty much have most everything we need now, so there's not really any shopping or gathering to do. If anything happened early I'd just have to direct DH where to find everything in the house.
A few weeks ago I went to bed and had HORRIBLE cramps...for a few brief moments I was starting to freak out thinking "what if this is premature labor?!?" and it was too early for the baby to be ok, much less me not being ready. Terrible feeling! Turned out to be intestinal cramps, thank the Lord.

Danav- You've given me a good idea that I should/need to start some lists of what I need to get and what I need to do. This will help me get one step closer to getting ready. I was just thinking today how quickly the time is going by and will continue to do so especially with the Holidays coming up.

I am at 30 weeks, expecting my first baby. I am also starting to think about getting ready. One thing that helped me is getting the cradle built. Now I think, "my baby has a place to sleep, my baby has my breasts" . Of course there are other things we want to have ready but we could handle it if she came early. I got a kind of macho diaper bag that looks like a big backpack. I guess I will start packing it for the hospital at some point.

Since this is baby #4, I've got everything I need, unless we have a boy, then I'm screwed :lol Actually I do have some gn clothing and all the diapers I've bought so far are gn so we'll be ok. I still need to get dh to get the car seat installed, but since I"m only 26 weeks I figure that's a bit early. Dh still needs to put teh cradle together - but I don't have a place to put it yet and if I do get it put up the girls will use it to play with their dolls, or the cat will start using it as her own personal sleep space so I'm waiting on that one as well. I haven't even thought about packing my hospital bag, but I've got time. My house, now that's another story. The bathrooms here need a good scrubbing, but I can nag dh enough taht he'll finally do that for me. I've been pretty good about keeping on top of the kitchen and living room so it isn't that bad - if I had to go early, I think we'd manage

I'm nowhere near "ready" either. However, if I did have to go on bedrest or something, I have friends and family I could ask to get everything ready, so I'm not too worried about that. Okay, truthfully I would trust *them* to get things done a lot more efficiently than *myself*, LOL! I'm such a procrastinator....

I'm perfectly ready for and capable of taking care of a newborn, in terms of "stuff" but I haven't finished my dissertation yet!! I might actually revel in 10 weeks of bedrest...no excuse but to write, right??
I am going to be cutting it really close as it is--I'll have my oral defense probably only a couple weeks before my due date so she had better not be too early!!
Besides, I don't want to read about anyone here delivering before 36 weeks, got it??? We are all going to term, and that's final. Even one hour in the NICU for evaluation is too much, take my word for it. And that goes double (pun intended!!) for you "twincubators"!!

You know, I felt comfortable thinking I had 10 weeks before the baby got here until I realized that in 7 weeks, I would be term. For whatever reason, 7 weeks sounds waaaaaay too soon!
I visited a girlfriend this weekend and brought back her swing. We plan on putting the crib together by Christmas (I'll do a side-car cosleeping situation like I did with my dd) and I'll make sure the clothes are washed and the dresser organized by the 1 week of January.
Oh my, things are starting to get very exciting!!!!! Can't wait to see who has the first baby!

Not ready here either.
I did order a bunch of herbs for tea and after birth herb bath last night though. We'll be getting a bigger car so we can bring the baby home , in the next few weeks.
Once we have the new car, then I will get out the old car seat and take it apart to wash it so I can put Jack in it and then get the other one ready for the baby.
But I dont plan to really start getting anything ready till after the first week of Jan, when my older son who will be here for Xmas goes home. Before that I think I have enough of other things to do!

This just made me laugh because my goal for this pregnancy just like my last pregnancy is 34-35 weeks! Lexi was 33.5 weeks but in previous pregnancies (other than Jack) I had never made it to 37 weeks the longest being 36 weeks 4 days! So while Jack went to 39 weeks 5 days I'm not making any promises! Besides a 'ready' 36 week baby here would mean that I definately know my dh will be home and at 37 weeks there is still a possibility he could be back out to sea!
Other than that the house is fairly ready granted we have only been here since June. To sort through fall clothes I just decided to sort through all the kid clothes and get that out of the way too... now I just have to figure out how to get all those tubs back to the storage area outside when I can't lift them because I space bagged everything! so for now they are a castle or whatever the kids made them into in the living room. We do however have to cram as much 'school' in before because Lexi will be gone most of Dec to visit her dad and I want to take at least a few weeks off when the baby is born and we took too much time off firts trimester cause i felt yucky.

Totally not ready here either!
So much school work to get done! And then I can focus on baby stuff, even though I would love to just through the school work out the window and deal with the baby stuff. It is not so much buying stuff as sorting, cleaning and organizing. I truly can not wait until school is done!! One major thing off my plate! I have no idea what I would do if bed rest were in the future, yikes!

I nested early so baby stuff is pretty well set, except car seat install and hosp. bags. But I am so thankful for those "OK" checkups and low blood pressure and all the other things that keep me able to take care of my kiddos, hubby and home.
DH on the other hand is starting to "rethink" the kids bedrooms and we may end up moving rooms, home office, etc to give the "girls room" more space. He has also decided to swap the faucet in kitchen, paint living room...Isn't it funny when men nest?! Gotta love em!

um, I have done nothing. Literally, nothing to prepare. I have not gone through baby clothes, I have not gathered any furniture, I have done NOTHING.
So I better darn well make it to term without any complication (the other two were late anyhow) as I simply am not available to do any sorting or prepping unti well after the holidays.
Wow, I sure was better prepared the last two times I did this ha ha
