Hi! I'm Robyn, a 29 year old homeschooling mom to my darling 7 yr old son. I found out I am pregnant last week after "officially" ttc for a few months, but I've had my fingers crossed for about a year now. It took dh a while to convince that we NEEDED another baby. :lol I am due Aug 1. I am hoping for a girl and dh is hoping for a boy. We both really just want a healthy baby though and we'll take what we get.(Not that we really have a choice. :) ) My son is sooo excited that there is a baby on the way. He is a very compassionate child and I know he'll make a great big brother.

Yay! We have our own club! I've been observing MDC for about a week and decided to come out of the wood work to do an intro once I saw we have our own board. I noticed when I looked at the board from my area that I even know a few people here.
I'm a SAHM to 5 children and am expecting my 6th. It scares me to even say that! I'm due August 5th and will be having a homebirth. I'm only slightly sick feeling nauseas when I eat something too sweet. My dh cooked some chicken on Sunday and that tasted horrible to me but I don't know if it's my aversion to some foods or his cooking! LOL :lol All I can say is this better be a boy because if it turns out to be another girl it means I have to get pg again!
When I have more time I will have to work on my siggy so it's as cute as yours!

Yippee! We're up !! My edd is August 4 with our third little wonder, but with my birthing track record this babe will maybe arrive mid August. I have a visit with my midwife on thurs and cannot wait! This little one was conceived after secondary infertility, I have PCOS and cannot wait to see that little flicker and hear the sweet gallop :heartbeat . Though I'm sure thursday will be too soon to see a heartbeat, I'm praying to see a healthy yolk sac snuggled into a safe place :throb .
Wishes and prayers for a healthy beautiful pregnancy for us all :grouphug

wow! I was hoping the august club would be up already!
I just got a positive today. I only tested because I had suspicious heartburn last night...I'm not even late for my period yet. :innocent
I have a 6.5yo girl, 3.5 yo boy (stepson who lives with me & DH fulltime), 8.5m girl and now I'm due on the 14th of August! I'm shocked, nervous, happy, thrilled, feeling blessed, scared, overwhelmed....everything!!! Feeling blessed above all at my obvious fertile body :lol
Oh yeah, we had a homebirth with our baby girl and will probably have one again. I say that because we just moved to an area that is about 30 minutes from a hospital. At our last home, we were two blocks and somehow DH felt better...he's a paramedic too! :p

Well, I guess I need to add a post here! I just found out yesterday AM that we're pregnant with our third. We are still in shock, as it was not expected. I'm also in school full-time and the babe is due about six weeks before classes start next year. Being AP, we're really struggling with how we want to handle things. But I've wanted a third baby sooo badly - just not quite so soon! I'm so happy to be here, though. It's weird to have feelings that run the full spectrum - the other times we were trying and were so simply and happily joyful.
No obvious symptoms yet - just tired and feeling a little "tender" in my lower abdomen. Otherwise, all is well, which is good because I have finals next week!
Congratulations to everyone! Oh, and our EDD is August 10th.

I'm due on Aug. 1
And to be completely honest with everyone, I'm absolutely scared to death that I'm having another baby. I have two boys at home, a 4yr and 2yr. they are such a handfull for me and I've been having a hard time with them lately. Up untill I found out I was PG last week I felt that I definately did NOT want another baby....
After a LOT of talks with my wonderful DH, we have decided to go through with this pg (as if there really was any other choice).
so, the question now is how am I going to handle having 3 kids!?!?!?
Not the happiest post on the board, but I needed to speak from the heart.
I am excited, just scared/worried/nervous....

Hey Mel,
I can kinda sorta relate....after dd (8mos) was born, I really thought I'd reached my limit...so much that my DH scheduled the big V. But, about five days before the appt I kept having these weird feelings...I'd go outside with the kids in the backyard to play and I'd suddenly panic that I left someone inside...different scenario...but the same feeling each time. So, the day before the appt, I told him to cancel. He wanted another one the whole time but didn't want to push me over the edge. We were struggling to keep a balance. Anyway, just a few weeks ago, I had a change of heart...we basically decided to not try but to just leave it up to God. Well God decided that the next week was a great week :lol I'm happy. But I am having many moments of doubt....you know, everytime the kids are driving me nuts and the baby is fussing away! :Hug

Got a positive this afternoon.
I'm scared typing that just 'cause I'm afraid I'll jinx it.
But, if it's not jinxed... that makes me due on Aug. 18th or so.
*This was planned, but I'm still freaking out*

Hi Ladies!
This is all still sinking in but I figured I might as well jump in somewhere I could obsess with someone.
We are expecting our 4th Child the first week of August. Not exactly planned.....and I am really nervous. I was really getting to the point that I was happy with three kiddos.
Alaina is 4.5, Jayden will be 3 tommorow and Elisha will be 1 on the 15th.
I am a full-time mommy and a part time photographer. Looking forward to getting to know ya'll.

I've felt the same way every time I've added to my family. Well, not til after the third but I remember many times being pg with my 4th and thinking "And I'm adding to this?" #5 was a surprise, I swore up and down I was not having any more.. Now we're on #6. I was very dead set on having anymore but dh and I both felt like we were missing someone, we just finally had to admit it to each other! LOL #5 and #6 will be 4yrs apart, more space than any other 2 children but I'm very happy about the spacing.
I do have a point btw. You get used to it really fast and then you wonder how you ever thought about not having another. There are days when I do feel like I have kids everywhere but you never think "if only I'd only had 2 kids instead of 3, life would be so much easier" Adding one doesn't make a huge difference, it just changes your routine a bit in the beginning and adds one more to get dressed in the morning. In other words, you'll be fine. You're kids will be fine. It's hard in the beginning but you adjust and you're fine.

Hi Ladies,
I am very tentatively posting here as we lost a baby last December. Leaving the July dd club was very hard.
I'm 35 and have one 3 year old son who we conceived naturally after three and a half years of IF treatments all of which failed. We had unexplained infertility. We were so very excited to find out I was pg again last Oct., but as I mentioned, we lost that baby.
here we are again!

Hey people!
I'm a newly registered long-term lurker, and I'm happily plunging in over here, as I just found out yesterday afternoon that DP and I have gone and made a baby! :throb
Time feels kind of frozen, I must say. I have also developed a weird (?) habit of carrying my positive test around with me, which is amusing at least! This is my first-anyone else in that boat with me? I am brand-new to all of this, outside of the mountains of reading I've done, and it's an odd sensation.
By my fertility charting, it looks like this baby's done cooking around August 10th, which is a most welcome three-days-early birthday present for me!
Quite glad to be joining all of you, I look forward to chatting and learning-I'm a little shy, but I'll try to speak up.

(Which would explain when I didn't know the difference between a fetal age and a gestational age... apparently, doctors just tack on an extra two weeks for convenience's sake? Which doesn't make me trust doctors much, to tell you the truth...)

Doctors do that to simplify things. Not everyone psychotically charts and knows the exact date they ovulated (yup, that would be me) so it is easier to go by your last period. The problem is, not everyone has a perfectly regular cycle so the day you had your last period does not neccesarily indicate when you ovulated.
And, for the record, I don't trust doctors much either. :)

Hi Moms (and Moms to be)
I just found out yesterday ... I'm surprised there's already a due date club!
I'm very excited. I do know *exactly* when I conceived (Nov. 15). So when does that make me due?? I'm so confused. Does that mean Aug 15?
I live in upstate NY in the mountains with my 1 year old and my dear husband. I really look forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome Liz! Congratulations! You will be due 38 weeks from your ovulation date or 40 weeks from the date of your last period.

I finally tested *early* this morning... what I figure is 15dpo. So by LMP I'm due August 12th, ovulation the 10th or 11th - for once it's easier to go by LMP!
I haven't told anyone yet, so it seems wierd to type it. My husband was disappointed last week when he discovered that I wasn't pregnant and just keeping it as a Christmas surprise - I couldn't believe that he didn't want to know right away, but I'm going to try to keep it quiet until New Year's.
My daughter will be 3 in September of 06. She actually told me that our new baby would be coming soon - we had this conversation at about day 8.
Good luck to everyone!

I guess that makes me due around August 10...although ds #1 arrived at 38 weeks, so we'll see!

Hi everyone,
Just poking my head in again. It's 5:30 am my time and I cannot sleep any later no matter how hard I try. Last night I was in bed by 6:30, that's probably why. I've been fighting a sore throat for the past couple of days, which has me a little nervous. If I get sick sick, I won't know what to do with myself!
Glendora-That whole LMP/fetal age thing can throw you for a loop! I had it pretty much figured out, but I've just started reading Dr. Sears' Pregnancy Book, and he goes by fetal age which I wasn't used to at all. Here I am, reading along, thinking about how I'm four weeks, getting all excited about what my baby looks like at these certain milestones, etc. only to realize that I've been looking two weeks ahead of myself! :flipped

I don't have that one - might have to order it! Actually, I gave all my pg books to my baby sister, who is expecting her 1st in early July. I figured she needed them more than I would, since I'm on #4!

I'm joining all of you. We found out on Sunday that we are having our 3rd (DH's 4th-SS is 22) but we kind of knew since conception. The baby is due on the 12th of August. Our 4 year old DD was born on the 29th of Aug. & our 2 year old was born on the 22nd. I honestly thought we'd at least be in July this time, but I guess I am having two August Leo's!

We just got our :+ this morning after trying for more than a year... and I was so sure this wasn't my month!
This is #2 for us, we have a 28 mo nursling... I asked her if she wanted to be a big sister & she said "probably no"... she's so grown up! She did come around when we got to talking about helping her baby bro/sis take a bath & learning to play w/her toys.
My name is Kelly, dh is Shawn, we're both 31.
Our due date is 8/21... my dad's birthday.
I'm in shock, I've got the hpt sitting on the shelf & check it every half hour or so...
edited to add: I am SO THANKFUL to have MDC for this pregnancy! I didn't find these boards until dd was 7 mo and I really wished I had found it sooner. Look forward to getting to know you all & sharing this time!
Many Blessings! Kelly

Congratulations!
I have three siblings who are about 10 years older than me (9, 11, 13 years older to be precise). I *loved* it. They're much more doting and protective! Just don't let them use their size to bully -- one of my brothers used to be kinda mean like that... and my mom just let it happen. In a sense you get the advantages of both being a single child and one with siblings when your siblings are much older.
We had to "consolidate" our kids -- I'm 37 and we didn't start til I was 34 ( we met relatively late in life). So we have to have em one right after the other (well, Lulu, my daughter, will be about 2 when the new cupcake is born). :)

Hi ladies!! I'm Sarah and according to my lmp, I'm due August 16th. :D I have no idea when I conceived, but I usually ovulate a bit later than 14 days, so I'm guessing the 16th is early. My first dd is a year old and she was 41 weeks 4 days.
Hey Liz, I'm in upstate NY, too!! About 50 miles north of the city, Dutchess County. I have family up to Albany, but all pretty close to the river. I was freaking about your sig, because it says Lulu was born in Sept '05, but reading from your post it must have been '04. Could you imagine being pregnant with a 3 month old?!
