I start feeling slightly nauseaus just before I miss a period and a friend of mine was surprised because she thought most don't start feeling sick until 7 or 8 wks. I started wondering about what all of your experiences have been so far. What are you experiencing right now and when did it start?

This pg it's been the same. Nausea starting about when I'm supposed to miss a period, so around 4 weeks. Sore bb's starting about a week before, so around 3 weeks. I'm slightly more tired than usual but I couldn't really pin point a date.

Oh, I'm having waves of nauseous...I'm officially late for my period tomorrow but I have two faint positive tests.

I didn't get nauseous with dd (8mos) until 8 weeks though. Every pregnancy's different for sure

With Layla (my first) I started feeling sick around the 8 week mark and with this one I am now feeling sick and I am only 5 weeks...so like kindermama said each pregnancy is different. I also have found that I have been really tired, more then usual. Good luck with it all :)

I am feeling pretty nauseous right now. I threw up my entire last pregnancy and I am hoping to not have a repeat. At least this time I have a little extra meat on my bones to start off with. :lol
My biggest symptom has been thirst. I feel like I can not get enough water. I'm drinking about a gallon a day. I haven't gained any weight yet but my pants are feeling tighter. I'm feeling pretty bloated, like I'm going to float away, yet I'm still thirsty. I know this sounds pretty negative but all things considered, I'm actually feeling pretty good. Plus, my breasts look like I had plastic surgery. Can't complain there!(Neither can dh.)

last time, the fatigue was terrible and the nausea lasted from about 8-11 wks.
this time, i'm already peeing all the time and am pretty tired but i have a terrible cold. i am wondering if my milk supply is already dropping though, because dd has been nursing nonstop the past three days and "pumping" the opposite breast while she nurses, as if to get more milk.

One of my classmates (also a good friend) told me last week that I was PG because I almost passed out after getting a whiff of formalin in my Gross Anatomy lab. Turns out she was right! Tomorrow or Friday would probably be when AF is due and I got a medium line on an HPT on Monday AM, so things are starting off strong, thank goodness.

My main deal when I am PG is that I am very sensitive to smells - mostly chemicals, especially the fake perfumes and crap they put in detergents to make them smell good. Anyone else like that? So when I was doing laundry this past weekend (before the HPT) I couldn't stay in the laundry room while the washer was going. I also felt round ligament pain last week. Other than that, I'm just very tired in the evenings and mornings and feeling a little bloated. No nausea yet, but I'm sure it's lurking aorund the corner. I started feeling sick at about 6 to 8 weeks the other times.

Robynee, I'm thirsty too! I hate drinking water normally but I finished off a liter today! And I'm still wanting more.

I'm nursing now, too, Glittergal. I nursed throughout my second PGcy but since DD2 is a little older than DD1 was, I'm hoping things won't be quite so intense this time. Yes! I think they know somehow! LOL

I have been very sensitive to smells. I keep telling dh to take out the trash and he keeps telling me that it isn't full. He can't smell it but it drives me crazy.

I am having some all day sick feeling too. I was really suprised to be sick this soon. Luckily I feel great this morning so we'll see how the rest of the day goes.

My only symptoms so far, at 4.5 weeks, are....peeing more at night, more tired and slight breast tenderness. I never had huge pg symptoms with my other pg's either...more nausea with my dd and the last pg.

Expecting another bundle of joy 8/7/06!

Me, too.

I can smell dry cat food from a room away. I fell like a really useless comic book superhero--the Smellinator.

I smell the bad guy, Batman! :D

My symptoms so far:

1. Suddenly detesting the mushrooms in my fridge and saying to myself, I never ever want to eat or even see another mushroom in my life. This was before I knew I was pregnant. I had conceived probably one week prior to this. Weird.

2. Tender breasts, but not more than normal premenstrual.

3. No nasaua, but felt a little shaky at times in the last few days.

4. TIRED!!!!!!

I know they say it's not real to the dh's in the beginning but you would think after 6 times that he finally would. I am sooo tired too and all I want to do is sleep. I have been very busy this week with something going on all day and into the evenings (different every day) plus my dd has strep throat so has been waking us up every night about 2:30. I desperately need a good nights rest.

So what does he do last night? Wakes me at 11:30 to bd! URGH! He asked me this morning if I was pretty tired. I felt like saying 'yeah, duh!'. He said I guess I shouldn't wake you in the middle of the night anymore. I was thinking 'it's fine, just THINK before you do it!'

Sorry, venting. Just feeling really irritated this morning!

I hear ya! When I was pregnant with ds, I think dh was freaked out by the whole thing and we didn't bd much at all. This time he has turned into an animal! We're both always exhausted at night though. He's a morning kind of guy. :lol I get up with him and see him off to work in the morning so it actually helps me to wake up. :innocent

I've had really sore BBs for nearly a week - they were starting to get better, so I was trying to convince myself it was just PMS. Today, since I tested, they're way worse. Psychological? ;)

I've had one day of extreme fatigue and a few small waves of naseau, but nothing serious. Wtih my daughter I didn't even know at this point (found out at 5 1/2 weeks) so I'm not surprised that there's not a lot going on right now.

As far as sleep, my daughter still tends to wake at least once in the night. It's not too horrible now that we've moved her back into our room, but last night she woke up at 5:30 (very cheerful, I might add) and was awake for about an hour. After she went to sleep is when I tested, and then I didn't get back to sleep. I've been tired late afternoon but then having trouble getting to sleep.

I almost don't want to post here... (don't wanna jinx myself- I have been having some problems)...but...
I've felt nauseas over the last couple of days & my nipples have been sore for several (which I thought was just due to DD nursing)
I only got a faint :+ this morning...

Feeling WAY more sick today. That's gotta be a good sign...I've heard before that the sicker you feel- the 'stronger' the pregnancy :sticky

Congrats BCmamaof5. :)
I just feel "icky". I almost threw up a couple of days ago but didn't. I'm kind of dreading the sickness because I was so miserable with ds. I'm finding that my rasberry leaf tea with ginger makes me feel pretty good. I'm wondering if it will hold up if I start to feel worse.

I think that enhanced smell sensitivity is a super power. I actually think it is evolutionary. Now (since my first pregnancy) I can really smell things and I can smell my dh's or kids breaths and tell if they are coming down with something.

Not useless at all. :)

Anybody else *not* feeling barfy? There have been some smells that have made me a little quesy, but no real waves of nausea yet. It's making me nervous. . .

hi hil. i am not barfy. i also haven't noticed any sensitivity to smell.

remember: we are pregnant until proven otherwise!!!

I've had moments of nausea here and there, but no great amount yet. My last two pgs I felt sick a lot, though didn't actually do much vomitting, thankfully. We'll see how this one goes.

I'm tired.

I get a bit shaky (low blood sugar) when I haven't eaten for a while.

Smells are starting to bother me (cleaned the bathroom this morning because of that). Last pg I couldn't stand the smell of Thanksgiving feast (so going to the grocery store meant not breathing through my nose while I was there all throughout the month of November). The first pg my sense of smell was so sensitive at one point that I could smell the bleach in kleenex!!

Did I mention that I'm tired? ;)

Thanks, Ursula. I think we will be talking one another off the ledge throughout this whole thing.

I guess I still can't believe it, but you are right. PG until proven otherwise!

i know this is ridiculous, because last time i didn't have too many symptoms until 6-7 wks, but i'm not feeling any different. my breasts aren't even tender and it's making me totally nervous and forgetting i'm pregnant. i'm peeing alot but i think that is because i'm making a concious effort to drink more. hmmm, i'm sure by next week i'll be singing a different tune! :)

OMG! I just got home from the grocery store. I hadn't eaten in a couple of hours and I live on the third floor. By the time I got the groceries in, I felt like I was going to die! I am feeling better now, since I had something to eat but I was a little concerned that I was going to pass out. I'm going to have to be more careful about eating more frequently and not carrying to much. I could go for a nap about now but ds still has a full school day to squeeze in. :rolleyes I can't wait til we break for the holidays.

No, I haven't really had much nausea. But I didn't have that much last time, just ravenous, low blood sugar feeling. It's still early , tho, don't worry!

well here are my symptoms :D
-my nightly severe nausea has begun~ I was very sick until about 7mos with dd and with ds I was throwing up until the day I gave birth- and not from transition :lol , I weighed less after birth in both pgs than I did preconception because I was so sick. they were both very healthy pregnancies and babies (with the exception of my sickness that I'll take a million times over for my :makebaby: :love )

-brushing my teeth- I gag and drool and most likely will :Puke anytime now :shy (actually I gag so hard I sometimes pee myself :blush :lol )

-sooooo tired, we had a playgroup here yesterday, adn after 3 hours of wonderful chaos I put a movie in for my kidlets :o and curled up on the couch in front of the wood stove, we all fell asleep for an hour- it was heavenly

- my nips are hurtin', nursing is pretty rough but we'll stick it out :throb

OMG! My boobs are KILLING me! I don't know how I'm going to handle nursing through the whole thing. My DD is SO not ready to wean yet, though. I also feel so tired that I want to nap all the time! :lol Yeah right! Gone are the days when I could nap during the day!

I have an appetite that just won't quit! I could eat all day non-stop, and whenever I do get full I feel very full, for a few minutes than again I am ravenous.. And I wonder how I gained 50+ Lbs with my daughter haha!

Let the eating begin!

I now have "body" zits. One on my neck, a few on my back and a few on my chest, yuck this is no fun! they are the big paiful ones too!

Oh and of course pg brain has set in. I looked for something for a half hour that was in the exact place it was supposed to be just upside down. UGH!!!

Slinging mom-

:) Yes, I feel "mud brain" kicking in! I guess I'm almost a month pregnant, and the hormones are ramping up...
the fatigue is incredible. A distant sense of nausea occassionally. Pants already feeling a little tighter.
I gained 50# last time, too. Granted I'm tall and was on bedrest off and on, but still. But my great docs/midwives never said boo. I'm glad.

Also, did I mention, I've been a little crazy about clutter in the house :flipped -- my poor DH, I start throwing out all his Science back issues and went on a rampage about some dishes in the sink. THIS feels familiar!! :shy

Yeah mine didn't either! I actually asked about it, and he just said, "some women gain more, your body knows what it needs" Gotta love that!

Ha! Ok, I'm not the only crazy purging all the old magazines. It's like I'm possesed. Only, the dishes aren't piling up because I haven't been feeling up to cooking. :lol But, here I am in gift wrapping h*ll with this enormous tree taking up half of my living room, and I'm throwing everything I can in the trash. I can't wait to chuck the tree and put all the decorations back in storage. So much for my Christmas spirit this year!

Tender breasts. Thankfully nursing hasn't become too uncomfortable except when ds decides to pinch and squeeze. But I do get yucky waves of nausea everytime he nurses.

Sensitive sense of smell. I could smell a woman's egg nog latte across a crowded room the other day (and boy did it smell GOOD -- darn coffee withdrawl).

Tired. Everytime I've put ds to bed this past week I've fallen soundly asleep with him. Of course, then dh wakes me up and I brush my teeth, etc. and I can't fall back asleep which leads to ...

Insomnia. I'm exhausted but can't sleep. I'm not sure if it is b/c of anxiety or b/c of hormones but it must stop. Soon. I'm so cranky.

Witchy. I feel like I have a bad case of perpetual PMS. I didn't have that with ds and I just want it to stop. Maybe if I could get some sleep ...

I have been SUCH a :demon ! I have been snippy with DS and feel awful about it. I'm worried about this pg sticking, Dh is out of town and of course it's the holidays and I have shopping, wrapping and cards to send out :yikes:

I'm hungry as anything and almost single handedly destroyed an appetizer platter at the party I attended tonight.

Amy, that's so funny, I feel like I could have written this. I was up from 12:30 to 4:30 the other night, at least I got some alone time to read.

with the sense of smell thing... when I was up for 4 hrs. that night, I could smell a candle that was in a draw across the room. At least the smell didn't make me feel sick like most of the other smells that I can smell.

As for the coffee withdrawal, I've actually been drinking half a cup a day (all I can stomach) and I swear that it's been helping with my neasea?!?!
Hope everyone's feeling well.

Speaking of smells, dh managed to get diesel fuel all over himself yesterday. He threw his clothes in the hamper last night(which happens to be right next to my side of the bed) and I had a fit. They are still in a heap on the bathroom floor.
I'm having a hard time getting comfortable at night. I am a stomach sleeper and I already can't because my breasts really hurt. For some reason, I can't sleep on my back and then my hips get sore from sleeping on my side. I will probably end up on the couch within the next few months. It's much softer than my matress.
Ary99- I also am growing horns. I can see it reflected in ds who has developed a serious atitude problem. He is like looking in a mirror. When I get crabby. he gives it right back. Only, I am not handling it well so we seem to be clashing a lot.

Not a whole lot for me so far. My boobs are killing me. I'm a little more tired than usual. I'm having some pelvic discomfort. Not cramps, it's just sorta uncomfortable. I"ve also occasionally felt a little weird, like lightheaded or something. Almost nauseous, but not quite. Give me another week or so for that. It usually kicks into gear around 6-7 weeks for me.

Oh, and I'm incredibly irritable, but xmas (and lack of money) and finals are stressing me out. I don't entirely blame pregnancy for that one.

Ary99
12-12-2005, 10:22 AM
OMG, you completely described how I'm feeling: almost nauseous but not quite, the weird light headed thing. . .

I feel different than with the other two pregnancies (one which stuck, the other which didn't) so I don't know what that means.
