In a few short hours I will be 15 days past my due date.
I took 4 oz. of castor oil and have been taking black and blue cohosh all day to absolutely no avail. I haven't had a single contraction all day.
Revoke my crunchy card or whatever, I just don't care anymore. I am calling my midwife in the morning and telling her I want to be scheduled for an induction ASAP. Maybe some people can handle going 3 weeks overdue but I am not one of them.

Oh, the best of luck. Poor castor oil eater - I don't envy you that. You've certainly made a heroic effort to get things going. Well maybe your baby will just surprise you tonight and decide to come out now that you've really threatened it. With DS, my water broke early, but there was no labor at all until the midwife, with a monitor on my belly, threatened induction. And then lo and behold, labor started within a minute. May something wonderful like that happen to you too. And in any case, good luck. You will have your baby soon.

DID :Hug . I would probably get to that point at 41 weeks....I really admire that you've hung in there this long! I'd be begging for an induction by that point, to hell with my crunchy card. I'm feeling desperate and I'm not even to my due date yet! I went early with my first 2, so I *feel* like I'm overdue. I wish you luck and lots of gentle labor vibes for you tonight.

I shouldn't be in here but I'll make you feel better by saying I turned in my crunchy granola card at 8 days past dd (I *knew* it was at least 8 days past, had tons of early bloodwork and ultrasounds due to past miscarriages). I just absolutely freaked out and had to do it and I don't blame ya one bit. I bet your cervix is so nice and ripe now that once they get you going you'll be able to do it semi-naturally, lol. Time to come out, little one!
(whoa we're starting to look like a mainstream board! pretty soon I'll be telling you don't worry, so and so was formula fed and he's healthy as a horse and don't carry that baby around so much, he'll never learn to walk!! lmao!)

I wonder if your mw will break your water...it's one of the first things they'll do at the hospital, anyway. if you're serious about going in, then I'd try that first. definitely. couldn't hurt since they'll be wanting to do it anyway.

{{hugs}} - it is hard to be overdue. I'm so sorry. Perhaps doing something nice for yourself tomorrow? Massage? Pedicure? You could do both while leaking water. :)

though I'd venture to say just saying "F*$k it" like this will get things going. :)

I had a client that went 4 weeks and two days over...first baby. hot days, no less. I have no idea how she managed. :)

wanted to add, too, that I have much MORE success with homeopathic versions of blue & black cohosh rather than the tinctures. IMO, the tinctures suck to get labor going. Once you have *some* contractions, the only tincture I really like is cottonroot bark.

Pam I think you may be right. Saying f*** it was all this baby needed.
Contractions are strong enough to have woken me out of a sound sleep, coming every 5 minutes and getting stronger. No cohosh since 9pm, no castor oil since 2pm.
Apparently he is only motivated when mama is really pissed.
I'll keep you guys updated since now I can't sleep. But in a good way, we hope!

:dust Oh, I hope these have continued and by now you are so close to holding your baby! My last two deliveries had real quiet day (as far as my uterus goes) before bam! waking up in the middle of the night in full blown labor.

One day or one event does not define crunchiness or lack thereof. You could still keep your card even if you had needed to do a hospital inductioon.
