A due date is just a date based on a calculation and it really can't be individualized for each baby. Only 5% of babies are born on their actual due date. Most babies are born a week either side of their due date, with 7 out of 10 babies being born the week after.

Unfortunately having reached my due date I am now on a clock to deliver because of the rules at my birth center. But most likely I will go into labor on my own sometime in the next week and 1/2 anyway. My doula is coming over today to do a hypnosis script with me. "baby come out" SHe said she has only had 2 clients be induced ever and it was for medical reasons.

I will also be eating mac and chz and A1 at midnight. And tomorrow it will be fresh pineapple and champagne.

I am going to go out to the mall today and spend some me time. Maybe I will get my hair cut and get some new makeup?!?

Oh, Becca! Happy Due Date!!! :D

A week and a half sounds like a real probability! :) I hope you're holding your baby soon! :)

Really cool that your doula will do the Baby Come Out script with you. :thumb Soudns great! And, what a lovely plan to treat yourself on your EDD and after.

I'm trying to only do things that I really want to do now that I'm beyond my EDD. Might as well, right? :)

I'll be with you tomorrow! Isn't it funny how everyone starts to get panicky (birthing centers included) once you reach your due date...My plan is to try to get a pedicure this afternoon if I can manage it.

Congratulations StarCat!!! Get yourself a nice candle at the mall... That's what I did today. Oh yeah and I bought a gift for my OB and doula... oh yeah and a new zip-up sweater for the baby... oh yeah and a "house coat?" for a less fortunate elderly lady. I had to actually ask what a house coat was. :blah :blah :blah

anyway..... happy due date!

WELL......I really haven't been too motivated today. Not feeling like going out much- I went to a couple of stores and then decided I just wanted to be home so I came home and ate some eggplant parm :) and then my doula came over and I just finished doing a hypnosis script with her, she had me relax all of my birthing muscles and then we pictured a movie screen and played out anything that might be holding me up from having the baby and then she had me talk to the baby and the baby to me and told the baby to communicate with me if there was any reason that she needed to stay inlonger. I really think I need to do it one more time because I don't think I was as relaxed as I have been for other sessions (she tapes it so I can doit again) So I think I will do it again at bedtime tonight and hopefully will have a baby soon.

I am going to the mall tonight with dd and dh to go to see santa (do you think they'd let ME sit on his lap and ask for a baby!) :) and we are going to california pizza kitchen for dinner. mmmmmmmmmmm

D'oh.... I typed in a big ol' long reply and totally didn't hit "post quick reply" ... I'll chalk it up to pregnancy brain. Might as well use it while I've got the excuse I suppose ;) (yeah... and I'll also use that excuse for leaving my purse yesterday at Wendy's -- MILs choice for eating yesterday when we were 90 miles away shopping -- ... at least MIL suddenly thought to look for my purse when we were about 15 miles out of town... so of course we turned back around and got it... I guess at least she remembered it!)

Anyway.... Can't wait for our date tonight ;)

Hope the hypnosis is EXACTLY what you need because really, it sounds so beautiful!!

Enjoy today, celebrate it fully. Celebrate the miracle inside of you, celebrate life in general. Live it up, I say. I mean, you might as well find *something* to celebrate!!! :banana
