Hi happy mamas!

Here's my situation:
I'm a SAHM who will be turning 30 in Feb. I have one dd who is 16 months who is still nursing 3 times a day (naps and bedtime).
I would love to start thinking about being pregnant again!
However...i had some health issues during pregnancy.
I suffered badly from hyperemesis gravidrum and went to the hospital emergency room 4 times for dehydration and had to be put on a saline drip. i lost 20 ponds in about 2 weeks.
After trying to hold out from medication, I eventually accepted Zofran (the anti nausea drug for cancer patients)
I tried so many natural remedies and tried to stay away from triggers (there were so many...and I had braces on my teeth too!) I was able to wean myself off the meds at 4months and eventually had her at home. :)

I probably know the answer that I probably need to wait until my daughter weans herself before becoming pregnant again. I started my cycle only 2 months after giving birth even though I was nursing round the clock.
Im also finally gaining weight (and then some!)...anybody else's body looked the best it had at 5 months postpartum and now looks not as good? :)

Any thoughts?

Cristina :)

I'd love to know the answer to the hyperemesis/weaning/next pregnancy question too. :lurk:

I've got 3 kiddos and I've only had Hyperemesis Grav. once (with my Last pregnancy) so there is hope that you won't have it with a second pregnancy. I also took Zofran. So to give you a little hope thought I'd share my story.
Can't help you on the nursing and when to get pregnant again though. SORRY
HTH.

I'm in the Zofran club too. It really worked for me but it was hard to accept having to take it for so long. I won't even take aspirin or Tylenol.

I've just started reading up on nutrition and hyperemesis and found some interesting info on vitamin K and B6 deficiencies and hyperemesis. May be something to consider if we go for number 2.
