Hi everyone,
I joined this forum awhile ago but can't get online much these days because I share a common computer w/everyone on the mfm (maternal fetal medicine) floor... I've been in hospital since Nov 17 due to ruptured membranes at 17 weeks and more recently a placental abruption. My goal is to get to 30 weeks...as horrible as it sounds I hope I'm in here for Xmas and New yr's because it would mean I'm still pregnant. Last week I had heavy bleeding and went into PTL which they managed to stop w/magnesium. I've been told it is unlikely I'll get to 30 weeks but then I wasn't supposed to have gotten to 18 weeks either so I'm praying that they are wrong.
Please keep my little girl in your thoughts and payers!!
Happy holidays to everyone and I hope evryone is doing well w/their preganacies!

27 weeks tomorrow and counting!

Thinking of you. Do you have any amniotic fluid left to cushion your little girl? I pray that she doesn't have any problems after birth as a result of not having adequate fluid in-utero.
Thanks for the update! Good luck to you!

Oh, Anne, you poor thing. I will be thinking of you and Caidren. :hugs and best of luck.
Hey, Anne, 27 weeks is getting there! You're doing great! I hope you are able to last to 30 and beyond. I'll be thinking of you and hoping for a good outcome and some rest in the meantime. It must be a very anxious way to spend the days, in hospital. Hang in there and keep us updated as you can.
warmly,
Kam, mamamama! to Meg and one more
That's fantastic that you've made it this far. You seem like you have a great positive attitude! Good luck and I'll be thinking of you and your family.

Thinking of you! I, too, hope you will be there past 30 weeks! (Very cool that you even have access to a computer at all with internet!)
Thank you for letting us all know what's up so we can send you good vibes. The more the merrier, right?
I agree w/ the PPs who say you sound like you've got a great positive attitude. Keep it up! And in the meantime, I'll be sending you lots of good juju.
Oh, and happy holidays in case you don't make it back here for a while!

27 weeks! That's fabulous! I was just wondering where you'd gone, because I remembered your story from earlier. So glad to hear you're still hanging in there.
Stick tight, little Caidren! You're better off where you are for now! :thumb

Oh, I'm so glad you posted again! I've been wondering how you and Caidren are doing--THANK YOU for coming back and updating!!!
27 weeks! Honey, you are in such good shape for a good outcome. Don't let the PTL worry you too much...I had PTL at 25 weeks, and everyone said it would happen again, and it didn't!! I bet Caidren is snug as a bug in there, and I'm sure she wants as badly as you do to stay inside you until week 30.
But wow...week 27! You are doing so well! Caidren will be so proud of her mama!
Wishing you a peaceful, happy holiday in bed, in the hospital, with happy dreams of your baby girl growing big and strong inside you. Stay put, Caidren!! :love

oops! One more thing....how's Caidren doing? You mentioned before that her growth had slowed while you built your amniotic fluid up again...everything going along smoothly with her now?? :fingersx:

What an amazing bunch of mamas :thumb
Thank-you all so much for your prayers, thoughts and juju :)!!
We went for an U/S today and Caidren has grown...YAY!!!! She's only in the 4th percentile at 668g (approx 1.5lbs) BUT she hasn't lost any ground...she's just following her own growth curve. I'm still bleeding due to the abruption but the Dr says unless I hemmorage or Caidren starts showing stress ( measured by doppler flow through the umbilical cord) they won't deliver her.
To answer some of your questions... I have officially resealed after PROM so fluid levels are good. It took me approx. 3 weeks to reseal but the Drs think that this was in good time for her lungs to develop...they do most of their developing between 16 and 25 weeks). They would not have given me the magnesium if I hadn't resealed and they were not happy giving it to me while I was bleeding but they didn't want Caidren coming out at 26 weeks...it was horrible stuff but it did the trick!
Yes, I am EXTREMELY lucky to be in such a great hosptial...the nurses are the best...you really get to know people when you are on bedrest :)! and having access to a computer is AWESOME!!!!
I also wanted to pass on a site that REALLY helped me w/PROM in case you or anyone you know ever experiences this (God forbid)...it's a great ref. also for those w/preemies...

Again HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you all, HUGS to everyone and please keep us in your thoughts!!
