I don't, but if you're interested in natural (herbal) abortificants (or natural birth control for that matter) check out www.sisterzeus.com

Yes, I used them once about 8 years ago but, the herbalist at an herb store just outside of Portland mixed everything up for me and explained how to take them. When talking to the person at the shop (many times) it seemed like this subject is a little taboo. I had to promise not to let anyone else who shopped there know, etc.
After noticing that I missed my cycle by a few days, fearing that I might be pregnant, I decided to try a something mild to bring it on based on Wise Woman... by Susan Weed and on Sister Zeus's website. I had success with trying Vit. C, Don Quia (?) and Black Cohosh.
First day took 6,000 grams of Vit. C, experienced headaches
Second day took 9,000 grams of Vit. C, 1,500 grams of D.Q and 5-6 drops of Bl. Cohosh every four hours. My emotions were tired, irritable, anxious and I had headaches.
Third day experienced mild but continuous cramping, started bleeding at 4am, bright red. At 7am and 1pm took 3,000 Vit. C, 5-6 drops of Bl. Cohosh, and 1500 DQ, experience heavy bleeding dark red.
Stop taking herbs, continued to bleed on fourth day, fifth day spotting and tested negative for pregnancy, 6th day spotting. Stop bleeding on the seventh day.

I am a midwife and have tried to help a woman with what's called a missed abortion. The fetus has died, no heartbeat confirmed on ultrasound. and occasional dark brown spotting. The mother was 40. We did a lot of things Susun Weed's book recommends. Never got her past spotting. After about 3 weeks of continued trying she finally had a D&C at a gyn's office. We did so much and it had really no effect.
A healthy pregnancy with a healthy young mom is also difficult to abort.
I have been told by professional herbalists that herbs are not effective when a woman is past her early 20's. I think it's very difficult if not impossible even when she's young.
These natural methods may sound good but you must realize many work by making the woman so sick her body rejects the fetus as a way to preserve her health. It is a fact that women have DIED trying natural and herbal abortive methods even herbs. Please don't do that! Consider all factors carefully and please do not try this!!

Calice,
Thank you so much for the word of caution. How far along was your client? Most herbal abortificants are reccommended for use only very early during pregnancy (say first 6-8 weeks) so, it's more about making the uterus into an environment unstable for sustaining an embryo (example: the vitamin C method, offsets the balance and encourages menses). I would definately not try herbal or natural methods of aborting a pregnancy past the second month, way too iffy and dangerous. Granted I am NOT a professional, but I have been researching female fertility and herbal contraceptives (and abortificants) since I was about 15 (about 7 years, but not super-intensively) for my own personal interest. I also think it helps if a woman is already in tune with her body and it's cycles.

Hmm, the memory's not so great any more but I think she was about 10-12 weeks by dates. Cannot recall how old the fetus was before demise. We tried herbs plus hot herbal oil packs over the uterus, we did infusions and tinctures, on weekends around the clock. Draining physically and emotionally.

Actually it's more about making the uterus and the whole body into an unhealthy place for nourishing a life.

I warn you, you are on shaky ground. The methods are very dangerous. One very old and effective way is to seal oneself in a small room and paint with dangerous oil-based paints until you pass out....using herbs is not much less dangerous.
I am glad you are interested in fertility and pregnancy and encourage you to read a book by the late, great Jeannine Parvati Baker, an accomplished yogini and midwife whose transition was just weeks ago. The book is called Conscious Conception: Elemental Journey Through the Labyrinth of Sexuality. Another book of hers is Hygeia: A Woman's Herbal. She was a great expert, however you may not want to hear all that she has to say on the subject.
I'm not an expert, I am a midwife licensed in my state and have worked with women from ages 14-44 years, for the past 13+ years. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the book recommendation :thumb
Also, I am not saying the methods are safe, only that some methods are less dangerous than others and that none should be tried by the uneducated or by someone who is unwilling to get a clinical abortion should natural methods fail. Honestly any use of herbs can be dangerous if you aren't careful, and very much more so when attempting abortion. That said though, it is possible to have a successful herbal abortion and come out completely healthy when all is said and done.
Also, please don't think I was questioning your wisdom, I'm not. Simply presenting another view. :love
