Ring around the belly button??? (Adventures in navel-gazing)

My belly button is getting really flat (Sis says I'm going to be an outie by the time this is over with), and I noticed the other day that I have a "ring" around it. It's a little darker color. Does anyone know what this is? It's not really noticeable, but dh noticed it right off, and he doesn't always notice things like that. Does anyone else have this?

I also have a light linea negra that is slightly out of line with my belly button, too. And a big old scar from my old piercing. But I still think my belly is darn cute :D .

Any one else here have any belly phenomenon going on?

Yep...I was going to post about this. Mine is getting all flat, and there's a stretched out white ring around it like skin that is getting ready to turn into a stretch mark.

Incidentally, speaking of bellybuttons sticking out, the more mine goes out, the more I seem to be using my stomach as a drip-tray. This week alone I ruined 3 shirts...just looked down and there's a big blob of food sitting right on my bellybutton. Remind me never to grow a beer belly.

I know...I have this problem with my boobs catching globs of stuff. How is it that this NEVER happened before I was pregnant? Did I drop this much food and it just landed on the floor, or am I just in such a hurry now to get food in my mouth that I spill it all over myself?

My tummy looks the exact same way! I even have the scar from an old piercing. :p I too think it's adorable.

:laugh: NO KIDDING! What is it about pregancy that every t-shirt turns into a big blob of belly stains? My favorite green T is a goner!

My belly button is getting way stretched out, but it's fighting to stay an innie. I know it can't last long, though.... The weird thing (*knock on wood*) is that my stretch marks aren't showing up again. I mean, the old ones are there, but they're not getting pink again.....please oh please oh please let them not get worse than last time!!! :fingersx:

I'm not spilling things on my belly yet (knock on wood!), but instead I keep wacking it on things. Like I'll misjudge where I end...I have hit my belly REPEATEDLY while trying to shut the refrigerator door.

And my belly button situation is a little grosser. :blush It started getting more shallow, and it started hurting for a couple days. I thought, does this have to do with my old piercing? But instead, in the bath one night, I realize that this big nasty ball of lint was surfacing from the hidden depths of my belly button! Ick! I pulled it out and it stopped hurting after that, and now I'm lint-free because it's too shallow. But EWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

My bellybutton is working on going away too. I usually have a super-mega-backhole-innie, and now its nearly flat! So wierd! I discovered I have a tiny mole on the inside of my bellybutton (which is now on the outside of my bellybutton haha).

My belly button is, and has been for weeks, completely flat! I used to have a super-sensitive navel, couldn't even stand to touch it myself sometimes, but now that is entirely gone. I can touch it vigorously! I can play with it! No more pain. :D Totally awesome.

Heehee, I just had to agree with everyone else who is spilling/dropping food all over their belly.

It can be a little bit embarassing, but I'm now remembering to look down after I've eaten something, especially if it's a cookie or piece of cake, and I KNOW I'll be covered in crumbs! :lol

Mine is still a huge cavern in my belly! It'll be a long time before it gets flat. I was almost 9 months along before it ever got flat last time and it never popped out. I really hate it, because you can see it through my shirts.

I've had an outie since the beginning of the second trimester--it never really went back in after my first pregnancy. I got that ring last time around--I think the skin was stretched there and showed effects of that before it got noticeable elsewhere.
