well hello! i'm in murrieta! i haven't hit this forum in a month or so, so i apologize for not responding sooner!
how delightful to hear there's another mothering mom down here!
we moved to murrieta from riverside in june of 01 and had ds in dec at home. our dd is 4 now. i'm a sahm, former journalist, ocassional freelance writer, planning to unschool, ocassional yoga/meditator/hiker type, when the kids allow. (and lets see, in the interests of full disclosure, we did cloth diapers with #1 but haven't used them with #2 and i'm afraid my kids consume too much sugar and processed foods. and they watch videos, but no regular tv. we do cosleep and have a very alternative take on discipline-type stuff. and we partially vax. hmmm, i think that just about covers the various mothering bases.:) )
you're the first mom i've run across at mdc in our corner of the IE; ladylee, a lovely mom with a nearly 3yo dd, lives in redlands.
would love to hear more from you,
susan

I'm in Rancho Cucamonga. Currently a full time SAHM to my dd Adia born on May 7, 2002. DH, Xan, works in management in retail. I am working on my ICEA childbirth educator cert and a DONA doula cert so I hope to be doing some part time work in the next year or so.
Adia's breastfed (6 to 8 times a day still at 9+ months), slinged about 85% of the time when we're out and about, eats mostly organic stuff - I make most of it these days, we use gentle discipline, we're switching both her and me over to cloth next month - so I guess we're pretty AP and seem to be getting more so as the months pass!
Glad to know there are other moms with similar lifestyles in the Inland Empire - I feel like the odd-mom-out at my Mom's club meetings sometimes!
Looking forward to hearing more from both of you and anyone else in the area.

hi keely!
glad to hear from you! i think there were a couple of moms up your way when i first started hanging out here last fall, but i can't remember their names. i think one was from r.c. and the other maybe from highland. maybe they'll spot this thread and reply...
i know what you mean about feeling on the fringe at the mom's club events!
don't have much time to chat at the moment, there's some ruckus brewing in the next room!
but wanted to say hi!

Hi, it's been a while since I've visited the board. Got all excited to see people posting from the IE.
I'm in Canyon Lake, it's outside Lake Elsinore. I've lived down here (I moved from northern California) a little over a year and I'm dying to meet some people. My son E is 3 1/2 years old, I'm getting divorced and am still home with him full-time for the time being.
If anyone reads this, drop me an Email or IM.

Old post huh? Come back everyone!!!!
I just moved to Murrieta from Australia and would really LOVE to meet other like-minded mothers as we're temporarily living with my husbands family... need I say nightmare?
We are getting so much "advice" and "suggestions" especially where breastfeeding is concerned. Apparantly breastfeeding past one year of age is not appropriate and foods should be included at 6 months (our 10 month old is still exclusively bf)... oh and I need to breastfeed before we go grocery shopping because there is food there... Uh... LIKE BREASTFEEDING is a dirty thing!
I'm about to scream lol
My email is infinite_eternity@hotmail.com

Hey Desiree! :D How come I'm not surprised to see you here?
I'd love to get together with folks, but with the holidays and a baby boy growing like a weed and making me huge I think I'll have to wait until he's here in the flesh early next year.
Here's my email addy though as I'd love to chat with all of you!

That would be fun to meet, we should plan something for IE moms in a few months down the road.
Do any of you go to LLL meetings? What city? I went a couple times to the one in Grand Terrace but its bit too much of a drive and havent found one closer. Its also at 9 am we are LATE sleepers! LOL

Hi Mary! Do you have an HMO? I have Aetna HMO so the pickins are slim but for a ped we use Dr Pumphrey in Sun City on Bradley Rd. We dont vax and he is great about it. He was encouraging about bf'ing past a year too. He also doesnt ever try to retract my intact son or anything like that. I have only been twice but both times he was good. As far as family dr goes, I dont know, my PCP is Susan Danek in Sun City (bradley rd too) but I have only gone to her once to take a hpt almost 2 years ago.
We are thinking of buying a house by the Caljaco/Ramona Expressway towards the mountains where all those new tract houses are going in........are you close to that? Of course we have to sell our house first......we'll see. LOL The area is really growing! House prices are JUMPING!

Hello again inland valley mamas!
I just found this website: http://www.partera.org and this is a DEM male midwife and he does homebirths for free (donation basis).......he has done over 295 births in tijuana.....I find his site fascinating, just thought I would pass the site out because I know CA and healthcare insurance for homebirth is a pain in the butt!
