My dh went to a pre-testing-information session for his potential new job and was able to talk to the woman who does the scheduling for testing and training. She said she would do everything she could do (if he passes the testing, which everyone is assuming he will) to be sure he doesn't go to the 4mo long training till after the birth. This is fabulous news, this means that we will no longer be looking at induction in order for him to be able to be there for the birth! I can rest easier and settle back in to my "The Birth Book" by Martha and Dr Sears with a clearer thought as to what I want birth-wise. I had to share in this news with someone! Thanks for listening as usual!!!

That's great news! It will be so much better if you don't have to be induced and can go into labor on your own. I was induced with my first, and labor was more painful than normal contractions (especially when your forced to be strapped in bed on your back). You probably know the risks: Getting the pit/oxytocin also increases the risk of c-section/ vacuum and forceps extraction. - which is true of my first birth- born with forceps.

Yes, we are both relieved and thrilled big time!! Neither one of us really wanted to induce, but neither one of us wanted him to miss the birth of our first either. Now we get both!
Is anyone having a hard time believing that it is just a few months away, by the way?

Tell me about it . . . I was talking to DH about the baby shower, which at this point is planned for the end of January. And as we were chatting, we realized that it is just over a month away. :eek And that after the shower, we will only have TWO MONTHS (give or take) until the birth!
So much to do, so much to do . . . I know that women at the end of their pregnancies usually can't WAIT to give birth, but so far it feels like everything has been moving so quickly that I would love to just "freeze time".

Sometimes you hear people say "I feel like I've been pregnant forever!!" but I don't feel that way. Its been going by very quickly for me. In fact I can hardly remember what it was like not to be. Its nice to see the other DDCs and see that they are talking about things we talked about months ago....time is really passing.
Congratulations on your revised birth situation! That must be a big relief.
