View Full Version : Does ANYONE else have pain/cramps?

Maybe it's just stretching/ligaments...maybe it's the cyst...but I'm so paranoid that the crampy-soft of feeling & right-sided pain is a symptom of an ectopic pregnancy...

(I had an ectopic 12 years ago...but it's so hard to remember how I felt before the major pain & bleeding started.)

I don't have any bleeding & I have all the symptoms of a normal pregnancy...
It's killing me having to wait until Thursday for a repeat ultrasound (the one they did last Thursday at 5w3d they said was too early to show anything).

After 2 years of TTC I am so scared that I'm going to lose this baby, KWIM?
I WANT this baby so badly...I'm just SO worried that something's wrong...

Does anyone else have cramps? or anything?
Does this sound at all normal?
Could it just be because it's our 6th baby (8th pregnancy...lost 2) and my uterus is expanding faster?
Would twins cause this?

TIA!

I'm having lots of cramping too. I can't recall if I had it this early with ds, but I know I had it with him.

When is your repeat u/s?

I have been having slight cramping too and I am so freaked out. I did not have this with my other three but, my body is very different having recovered from a devistating illness and now eating a much different diet ..I don't know what to think....I am so nervous!

I definitely get a tightening here and there which I am labeling as uterus expansion haha.

BC maybe it's those 3 embryos making the room they need :lol

I've been VERY crampy. I remember this from my last pregnancy though, so I'm not worried (though I do check the TP after every bathroom trip, hope that isn't TMI). I have this heavy, crampy, getting-my-period sensation almost all the time. It's lessening a bit now though, and I'm almost 8 weeks. Also from time to time I've had a sharp shooting pain on the right side, which makes my brain say "ectopic???" but then it passes and I stop worrying. For a while anyway.

I don't think you should worry, but I know you'll feel better after your repeat U/S!

I had quite a bit of crampiness right when AF was due. That coupled with the initial negative on the HPT really had me thinking there was no way I was pg.

I remember it with DS also

I have been havin lower back cramping. A lot of it, in fact. I am trying not to worry too much as long as there is no bleeding. I also thought it might be because this is my 5th child.

I've been having cramps for the past few days, AF was due today.... I'm also having lots of twinges, aches & a few sharp pains, as well. I remember this well w/my dd... I kept checking for AF. Now I'm taking all of my extra trips to the bathroom to do the same thing.

I went and had a blood test this afternoon to check my levels because I am just crampy and now don't really have any other symptoms ( last week I was tired and had that slightly yucky feeling, now nothing)...very scared! We want this baby soooo badly....

Well...I feel a little relieved that I'm not the only one experiencing it.

I've had cramping for awhile now. I was spotting too. My midwife says the cramping was just "stretching and growing", nothing to worry about. It is hard because I haven't been pregnant for seven years so I don't remember much from ds. Well, except for the morning sickness, who can forget that?

I can remember having such cramping in the beginning of my pg with dd- worse than any period ever was. It was so very scary but she will be 5 in 2 weeks :love and we had a very healthy pg! Also lots of cramping with ds though was scary I had to keep reminding myself of dd pg. This pg I havent had any and even that makes me nervous :o . HUGS MAma, It is so frightening but also normal and healthy. As miraculous stuff is happeing inside of you!

Just had an OB appointment today and asked this very question and she said that with subsequent pregnancies the cramping/stretching comes earlier, may last longer and is more pronounced. It's not that the uterus is growing more quickly, but that the ligaments have already been stretched and kind of "know where to go" and then go there sooner.

I know it gave me peace of mind. I was convinced I was having an ectopic with all the cramping. I didn't remember having this much the first time. Thankfully, an u/s confirmed that the little bugger is in the right place.

I am expecting baby #4 and whoaahh the twinges and cramping and whatever is certainly going to town big time. It definitely gets more pronounced with subsequent pregnancies.

I had some cramping with dd - it's totally normal. I haven't felt a thing this time around.

Hey there,

I just posted on the chit chat post earlier about how worried I am with cramps. I am actually feeling little twinges and pains around the uterus. It isn't so much a general aching cramp, like I get before a period. This is my second pregnancy. Since there are no other bad signs, I am assuming that this is the uterus expanding (I don't remember feeling any similar twinges with my last pregnancy). Just in case, I moved my 8 week appt. up to tomorrow. I'm sure it is normal - like you said, it might be something that happens in subsequent pregnancies. PPT!
