(Sorry for the subject title but it helps if I can laugh at this.)

For the past few weeks I've been having hard time getting to sleep -- the doctor gave me some medication to take and while it seems to help me fall asleep (I still wake up to pee every two to three hours but I go right back to sleep), I'm waking up waaaay early in the morning and can't get back to sleep.

The problem is I don't go into work until the afternoon and I don't get off until around 8 so by 5:00 I'm exhausted and worthless.

Do you think it's just a brain thing? That I have so many things to do (holidays, etc.) that my brain says let's get up and get goin! Or is it a physical thing with pg?

Anyone else having dawn problems? What do you do?

For me it's mostly physical.

I have a similar problem. I come home, tired. The bed lures me. I forget to take out my contacts and sleep in my work clothes. I fall asleep at 7:30, wake up at 10:00. Pee. Go back to bed. I wake up at 12:30. I have heartburn and cannot sleep. I stay up till 2:30/3:00 because I need to sit up. When I go to bed baby is kicking me. I giggle. I evenutally fall asleep and wake up at 6:00 when the dog wants to go outside and pee.

:D :D :D

woke up at 5:30am today. I wonder sometimes if I am cycling with baby's sleep cycles....

I hate it. I have never had a problem sleeping, ever in my life, so this bothers me.

I had a week were I was waking up between 4-5am and couldn't go back to sleep so I just watched music videos or CNN for about an hour until I got tired again. Thankfully I don't have to work and my girls wake up around 9 so its not to hard and I take a nap when they do also which is for about two hours.

Oh, yeah. I'm up at 1230, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 630 to pee..... usually at either 4 or 630 I just dont get back to sleep.

DH has been doing it too, though, so we're getting a lot of bonding in.

Now, if only baby would kick HIM during that time, we'd have some real family bonding going on!

:lol

:lol The title just made me laugh so hard. Not pregnant anymore but joining you at the butt crack of dawn as my dd#1 has been getting up at 5:45. She used to sleep until 8:00. WHAT HAPPENED!!! 8 am seemed early to me. 5:45 is just outrageous. I have to go to sleep at 8:30 in order to get enough sleep with dd#2. So know you are not alone watching the sun come up.

I think the baby's starting to train me.

I hope it's a brief phase though as it's bad enough having to go pee every two hours....be nice to get some sleep before she arrives :)

Haha! Oh wait -- it's too late for that isn't it?

*chuckles* Oh dear.

It's physical. I went through several phases of this with my first pregnancy, the worst of which was the last month where it was 5 am waking for the day coupled with peeing every 2 hours all night.

It's a very cruel trick. Yes, it somewhat trains you for sleepless nights with the new baby, but it would also be nice to bank some sleep that last month in preparation!!

This is happening to me--that is, it's hard to get a solid night's sleep. And I rarely, if ever, have to get up to pee. I think I must be affected by the baby's sleep cycles. I used to be a heavy sleeper, but not any more. I noticed that baby was kicking away when I woke up at 5 a.m. on Sunday morning. My DH, bless his heart, told me to kick him when the baby started kicking in the middle of the night so that he could share the experience!

Well go figure, it's been a LOT better this week. In fact I've overslept the last two days. Granted am still waking up every 2-3 hours to pee but that's been consistent since conception.

I am starting to feel a lot more tired too during the day though -- like I'd love a nap around 5:00 or so which is how it was during the first trimester. Reckon I could be hitting that third trimester earlyish or is it just work and holiday bustle?

I'm so glad I turned in my notice at work. I can't wait to be able to nap again....*stifles yawn* and look! It's not even midnight and I'm SLEEPY! Hallelujah!

Off to bed go I.
