i'm still here although i suffered quite a shock yesterday when i realized (yes just realized) that i have 9 days until my due date, now 8!
so i guess i just didn't realize it was so close so when everyone kept calling asking how i was if i had the baby, and freaking over me going caming i was like jeese people calm down. but then when i realized how soon this baby is due i have nothing done well i do but not enough. but my house is to cold for me to want to be out there cleaning, although this afternoon it will be better, plus i get tired just to easily for me to think that i can get it done in a resonable amount of time. then last night i got worried that what am id oing having two kids how will i be able to be a mom to two??can i handle it, and labor is painful can i deal with it again. i mean i know logocally that i can do all this, that whatever is put in front of me will be dealt with and in a fairly good way too, but it's a little freaky too.
8 days!!! 8 days 8 days wow i don;t know how it just came up so quickly, but then i don't know how i have an almost three year old too (she is so fricking cute and wonderful) but lady oh lady does the time fly by. it boggles the mind. then i someday little unnamed will be as ols as jewey and jewely will be ^ years old how crazy how crazy.

oh boy, how we beat ourselves up!!!!

I am still here and it's my due date. :(
I went to the MW this morning and got another membrane sweep. I'm 1 1/2 cm, but she could stretch me to 2. I woke up at 2:15 this morning with contractions about 20 min. apart, but they fizzled out. I lost my plug last Thursday, bloody show and everything. :(
I know only 4% of babies are born on the due date, and my husband and I think the dd should be at least 5 days later than it is, but I was still hoping to go today. Maybe the membrane sweep will kick things into gear.

I'm still here and I HAVE to be next. I'm 6 days over now and under a lot of pressure, with Dh being on call at work next week, and there is no way he can get out of it. And my whole wisdom tooth dilemma. It's swollen over to the size of a small marble now. I just need this baby out so I can #1 recover at least a little bit, before Dh is on call at work and I'm thrown into being the mama of a 4 yr old, 2 yr old, and a newborn. #2 I can go and get this wisdom tooth removed before it turns into something serious. Oh, and #3- If for some awful reason I'm stilll pregnant at 42 wks (Thurs. Dec. 22nd) I can kiss my :homebirth goodbye.
So, PLEASE let it be me. Please, please, please.
I'm really thinking good thoughts for the full moon tomorrow. :wink

I'm here and not due for two weeks. My SPD is bugging me. My midwife ordered me to stop lifting and bending, especially lifting DD and taking care of her, so I actually alone in my house in the middle of the morning. Weird. Friday is DH's last day of work before Christmas break, so I just need to find help until then.

I'm STILL here too. Officially 41 weeks today! LOL So lets have a party. HAHAHAHA Who wants to bet I make it to 42 weeks?! ME ME ME.......this kid like it in there too much. LOL
Yesterday at the midwife appt she said she feels "decent size." Oh so yay, I bet I get to push out a 10 pounder. LOL
I'm also hoping the full moon gives me a little help! COME ON!

I am still here too. Waiting, waiting waiting! Hoping to avoid induction because of my blood pressure. repacked my hospital bag yesterday, and the baby is coming to fast bag, moved somethings around in the house to get ready. We got about 4 inches of snow last night and it's supposed to keep on snowing through Friday. PLL has been prety quiet yesterday and even quieter today, except trying to trudge through the snow to take my 7 yo to the bus stop!

Today I am 41 wks and 2 days. 9 days past my edd.
I got membranes swept yesterday and had bleeding all day and then it slowed down at night but then I started having some contractions that felt kinda different. I went to bed thinking today would be the day. I woke up a couple of times around 3am with really intense contractions and after a couple I just got up. I was able to work through them but they were really strong. I worked through them- was able to doze a little between a few but they always woke me up- for a while they were about 5 minutes apart. I also had a lot of pressure and blood tinged mucus. Then about 7am they died out and have been irregular since then and have varied in strength. A few hours ago I really thought today would be the day and now I just want to give up.
I don't even know if I'll be online any more today. I am trying to nap but I can't seem to....I'm just overwhelmed with this. I hope everyone else has a good day and does better than me.

I'm here, of course, just a few days past my EDD. Yesterday I was feeling very emotional and overwhelmed and just about ready to give up. Taking care of my 4 and 2 year old has been SOOO hard lately. My 2 year old is very clingy and has been cutting two big teeth on top of that. He is wanting to cling on my neck like a baby koala bear all day, and the four year old wants to sit on my ever diminishing lap too. I don't know how a baby is going to fit in the mix...but I'd still rather have her OUT than IN causing me pain and discomfort.

Still here, but then I'm just 37w5d, so really who knows when I'll go.. am half hoping it's soon, so I can get the birth team I'd prefer (they're both going out of town toward the end of the month) and the tax break - and half that it's later, so I get a Capricorn instead of a Sagittarius (yeah, silly, I know... but I'm a Virgo and dp and dd are both Aries and it gets a bit :nut ).
You due/past due/almost due mamas deserve to go first, regardless!

Still here but that is OKAY!! Due date is Saturday so not overdue yet...
Checked my cervix this am and it admitted 2 fingers (so about 2-3 cm) but what does that mean? Nothing really but its fun knowing. I didn't want to stimulate anything so I kept the exam short...I want the babe to pick the day, not me. Also my dad is coming tomorrow for a five day visit and I think that might just make me hold this little one in until he leaves! So anytime is fine but I'm totally fine with the 21st, which is a Wednesday, my favourite day of the week :wink .
Am I the only one who isn't sure they want this to end? I'm going to miss this belly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :throb :throb :throb

I'm still here! I'm 38w2d, and just finished the semester yesterday. I also set up the fishy pool, washed sheets and towels (and all my clothes), and am totally ready now.
I am 4cm (and soft and stretchy), had bloody show 2 weeks ago, but no signs since. Still, I think it's soon. I doubt I'll make my EDD (the 26th) but hope it's by the 22nd, so we don't have to put a 1-2 day old in the car for Xmas. I'm fairly comfortable and could physically last weeks, but I want as much time with this baby as possible before we go back to school (Jan. 9).
I was hoping, even planning, on birthing tomorrow on the full moon, but my mom messed that all up! My aunt and uncle decided that we should celebrate our extended family Xmas on Friday since my cousin is graduating college tomorrow and they don't want to make two trips here from Virginia. So if I do give birth tomorrow, I'll be expected to put a newborn in the car for 30 minutes each way to my mom's! Thanks for the two day notice on that one, mom!
Julian, my almost 3 yr. old, keeps telling the baby to "come out today!" It's darling.

I'm still here and due tomorrow. Feeling pretty tired today. No contractions (aside from the usual BH), not much mucus. I'm incredibly bored. The baby stuff is all ready to go. The hospital bag is packed. We're moving on Saturday, so our apartment is nearly packed. Not really any cleaning to do. DH has one more final and a paper to finish today, so anytime after 8:00 tonight is great for baby to arrive. :nut

I took Julian for a walk in the park when he was two days old (it was an unseasonably warm February day- I wore a jean jacket over a t-shirt!), so I'm not known for lying in bed... I had very little bleeding after his birth, but I would feel bad making a brand new baby lie in a carseat for 30 minutes.
I'm thinking I should try and hold off until next week- a solstice baby would be neat. But I won't mind if baby decides to stick with the original plan and be born tomorrow!

I'm still here too, at 38w1d. Today I feel like Boy-Baby should either show up NOW, or hold his peace until after the holidays. I mean, he'll be welcome any time, but do I really want to be at the hospital on the 24th? I'd love to have him on the outside for the season, but I'm still fairly comfortable, and I've had a feeling for a while that he'll be late. New moon is what I'm guessing.

I'm soooo crossing my fingers that all you overdue mamas go first.
That said... I'm not feeling very patient, even though I'm only 38w1d. I don'tt actually mind when baby brother comes, but I want to know when it's going to be! Day before yesterday, I lost some mucous plug (yay!), then yesterday had some wetness in my undies (amnio fluid?) and ctx off/on all day. We went for a walk in the afternoon, and the ctx started coming on strong, 2 min apart like clockwork. So up until then, yesterday was *exactly* like the the day I gave birth to Ethan. The difference was that when I was preg with Ethan, we had confirmation that I had leaked amnio fluid in the a.m. and were on the medwives' clock to get labor started. So when I wasa in labor with Ethan, we walked for 3 hours til labor was going good and strong. Yesterday, we didn't do this, since we had no confirmation of an amnio fluid leak (I had only leaked once). So, I went to bed hoping that things would continue to progress, but no such luck. I was aware of no ctx while sleeping. Have had ctx off and on all day today but after yesterday's tease, I'm not putting any stock in them til they're really intense. The PITA is that DH set up and filled the AquaDoula tub last night, expecting that we'd need it. Now we have this full tub, huge drowning hazard, in the middle of Ethan's playroom, and have to find ways to keep Ethan out of there. Argh! Come, baby, come!

I've had pretty bad contractions the last couple of days, but at only 2, I guess they aren't doing THAT much. But, I am avoiding the mall. I thought that would be a good place. But, It's way too stimulating and then I get grouchy! DH won't mind if I avoid the mall (hee, hee). I can't believe Christmas is so close. My mind has been in babyland not on Christmas. We took the kids to the Angel Tree and had them pick out goodies for the child they chose. That was fun but,no more mall shoppin for me for quite some time.

I'm still around and stop by to browse this forum everyday, even though I don't say much.
I'm 39+ weeks, which I cannot believe since this is the longest I've ever gone pregnant with my babies. I don't know how some of you mamas do it, going overdue, and I hope I don't find out because I'm ready NOW! I have a funny feeling I just might find out.

I'm still here. My cervix went from 5cm back down to 2 due to the pain and tension of a thrombosed hemorrhoid, but the pain is finally lessening some after 3-4 days, so hopefully baby will feel safe to come out in a few days when I'm all healed.
I'm due on Monday, and any time but Xmas Eve or day is fine with me. So this baby has until Friday and then I'm holding my legs together until Monday!
My son was born at 39w2d, so here at 39w1d I am looking at soon being more pregnant than ever before. Aside from the hemorrhoid (which has been excruciatingly painful for the past 3 or so days), I feel fine. I'm growing a big fat baby, I can tell this one will be much bigger than my son (who was 8lbs, 3oz).

Still here. some cx at night and during the day but nothing too active or lively. Slept alot yesterday as I had a touch of a head cold. Went on a long with my Dad yesterday morning, no action. Still waiting. Will walk again today and try to find something else to keep myself busy. Our dd's (8 and 6yo) are having a winter program at their school this evening. They will be singing along with the whole school and the theme this year is families. I absolutely love these performances! I get all choked up at the beautiful children singing their hearts out. It truly makes my heart smile! Maybe baby will hear the singing and want to come out and see.

i tried to hard to congratulate everyone on their babies and thought i di so, but putting names and screennames together is almost impossible for my brain!!!!
i removed the 2 mamas listed but add your name if you are due this month, b/c i dont think i will be having this baby until Jan, Feb. March...oh, i don't know....sometime AFTER Dec!
i purchased a holiday outfit today (dark blue velvet). i will probably be returning it, since i dont think this babe is coming before Sunday...or during Chanukkah. i dont really like velvet anyway...but it was just cute and at TJMax, very cheap!
ok, mamas! lets go! have your babes!!!!!
sending major (but easy) labor vibes to anyone on this thread's list!!!!

Hi mamas, I loved reading this thread! It was fun to see mamas posting about how they'd never go into labor, and then being the next ones to have their babies ;) I am due 12/30 and tend to go late (ds was 14 days late!), so we'll see if I am a December mama this time around, or a January mama...
I'm feeling really good, I will be 39w on Friday and really the only thing bothering me is my achey hips! Baby clothes are in a basket, all ready to go. I've got a sewing date with a friend next Tuesday to sew some little newborn dipes... I can hardly wait, they are already cut and just too cute!
I still have to get the fishy pool ready to bring up, and wash the cover on the carseat and put it in our car. We're actually taking the car in to get it fixed Monday, so after we get the car back would be ideal!
I would love to go anytime after Christmas. Aside from the tax deduction, DH goes back to school on the 3rd of next month so the sooner I have the baby the more help I'll have, so I'm also feeling a little bit of pressure to not go late. OTOH, I feel like I have a ton left to do to get ready so I'm not in too big a hurry! Fortunately, he's only taking classes 3 days a week this quarter, so that will help a lot.
DS is 2 1/2 and really excited about the baby! I hope his enthusiasm lasts once the baby arrives ;) This will be our second homebirth, and perhaps our first waterbirth!

It's nice to see you around XM. Here's hoping babe comes next week after Christmas!
Rach - any changes???
I've been getting stronger and stronger contractions, but definitely not real early labor. No show, no mucous plug, no anything else. But I do have the strong feeling that this is happening sooner than later. Maybe that's just wishful thinking though. I've actually been pretty at peace with the baby coming whenever, but I'm starting to lose energy and it's hard to deal with DS's high energy level when I'm so tired and it's so hard to move. DH will be off work starting next week (his whole office shuts down for a paid week off anyhow), so we're hoping the baby comes before then so he's home for a little bit longer.
Come out for the holidays, babies!!!

had a midwife appointment. nothin' happenin'. baby is rot, i'm thinking that's just a bit too close to posterior for my taste, so s/he's getting a talkin' to! head is still floating (like, around -1 station), so we're so far off it's ridiculous. dana told me not to be surprised if i'm still pregnant on new year's eve. ack!

come on lorrie! what about some pineapple? doesn't that sound good? when will your dh be home? when he does, just jump on him! lol!
we have to encourage YOUR baby so MY baby will follow! :)
im about to nominate myself for last Dec. mama standing since the barametric pressure did nothign for me, constant contrax are doing nothing for me, the dirty deed is doing nothign for me (oh...welll...maybe that is doing something, but not the SOMETHING i want it to do!).

Nope, baby's nowhere in sight except for the huge blob-like alien pushing around my belly. I never get over seeing that! I'm not even overdue, so you are certainly first, Rach!!!
I haven't even dropped yet, but I think that's a good thing since my pelvis is so painful already. I am almost done with my "to do" list, which is good since I'm such a perfectionist. I think that the baby has just been waiting for me to get done so I'm not preoccupied with those things instead of enjoying my babymoon!
Oh, Lorrie! Get on your hands and knees and do some pelvic rocks! I'm sure your babe will move right into position when the time comes and won't cause any back labor.

Although maybe your screename may be influencing it - maybe you should change it to "despierta" rather than "dormilona". :lol

I'm still here, just been lurking mostly the past few days because I've been in such a funk. We thought our little one was getting ready to show up last weekend, but apparently he still has some things to take care of on the inside. I suppose we were the stereotypical first-timers last Sunday, getting so excited, packing up and driving across the bay to get closer to the hospital, only to have things stop completely that afternoon. Took me a couple of days to get over the disappointment and realize that the baby's still coming, just not yet.
It's been raining a lot here, which wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't discovered new leaks in our "roof." And if we didn't have to trek in the rain to get to the marina showers. I am so ready to abandon ship and go labor at a nice hotel with a big bed and a bathtub!
Today I'm having lots of ctx (but no other signs) and I've decided to ignore the ctx until I can't anymore, because it seems whenever I decide they're closer together and start timing them, they stop!

I'm still here! 40 weeks & 4 days according to my LMP, but 39 weeks & 4 days according to the midwife practice. That is cool b/c my 1st was 5 days late and messuring big, so they put all kinds of undue pressure on me to induce ealry. I didn't give in, but I still ended up w/an unnecessary c-section. Not this time! I have an extra week, so hopefully caster oil will NOT grace my lips (that stuff is so GROSS, & my waters had mec in it that I pin on the oil). And I have learned from my ICAN group that I can say, "I DO NOT CONSENT TO SURGERY!"

absolutely! join away! and just remember that i am just the resident complainer who is not "officially" od yet...my babies have just always been 2-3 weeks early and 9 pounders, so i really thought my due date was umm...."1st/2nd week of Dec.". lol! NOT!
my MW keeps making appts. w/ me a week in advance...and i keep telling her to double book herself in that time slot! im glad i have a patient MW!!!

i'm 40 weeks now. Mw checked me on Wed. Fingertip dilatd, 50% effaced. Contracted somewhat regularly for 2 hours that night. Not painful, but somewhat consistent. Now nothing is going on. Is there a finger drumming smiley face?

I'm still here for now... I've been having mild but fairly regular contractions since I woke up at 10-ish this morning. Doesn't really feel like progress but who knows? Maybe I'll have dp check me later tonight if this keeps going... been trying to hold out on that though, my midwives are great and don't even offer.

Ok, who's left? Courtney had her baby, Rachel was going to the birth center. I believe Withcbaby had her baby.
I'm now 8 days od. They scheduled my induction for Thursday "just to hold a slot". Another NST Tuesday , then a MW appt. Hopefully NST goes well so I can convince MW to wait another week for induction. Actually, I'd rather just go into labor before Tuesday.
Does this mean I have to leave the December board and crash January?

you certainly don't have to leave the Dec. club!!! crash Jan. if you want but WE are still interested! :)

still catching up...rach
