The other post about boy or girl predictions made me wonder.

It drives me crazy to not know so I always try to find out. I like to have every thing ready to go and I'm not crazy about gender neutral colors.

We were able to wait last time and have all gender neutral stuff so I assume we'll be able to wait again... But if DH really wants to I might give in this time...

I have found out with both my other pgs. we found it so much easier to choose a name, and be able to call the baby by his name. I liked to be able to know what was in there and for me knowing the gender helps me to bond more with it. when I was pg. with my second, I really thought that I was having a girl. when I had my U/S and found out that it was a boy I was a little dissapointed and I was able to get over that and get use to the fact that we were having another boy before he was born. I would have hated to feel that dissapointment on the day he was born.

and as for the surprise thing. It's a surprise whenever you find out, weather it's at the u/s or at birth!!

I've known with 3 of mine. I'd like this one to be a surprise. I think it's more exciting that way.

We found out with ds, this time - I'd like to wait, but I have no willpower, so we'll find out if we can :)

I'm a "maybe"...
I hope I can keep the willpower... but I do agree that it's a surprise whenever you find out... and it IS so nice to call baby by name...

uh oh... sounds like I'm gonna find out...

I think I'm going to find out this time. I did with the first 2, but didn't with the 3rd. It was kinda fun finding out at birth. I'd wait again this time, but I gave all my baby stuff away. I need to know who to start bugging for stuff. Do I bug my brother for all the boy stuff I gave them? Or my sister for all her girl stuff? I don't want to leave all that to after birth. I'll have way too much going on then.

One of these days I'd like to be surprised, but this time I think we'll peek. We want three kids, so perhaps we'll let the last kid be a surprise. It would be nice to know ahead of time if its a girl and we need to buy girl stuff.

I voted no. Last time we didn't have an u/s, so the issue never came up. I don't plan on having an u/s this time either, but if I need one, I might find out the sex. I think it would bother me that the u/s technician knows and not me.

I picked yes but I really don't want to know. Dh freaked when I suggesting not finding out. He really wants to be prepared. We found out with ds. I think it would be exciting not to know.

I am still not sure if I want to know or not. I wanted to for a while, but I thought it might be fun to find out at birth. My hubbie wants to know, but is open to talking about it. :bouncy

I would love a surprise or to know and make everyone else wait. But dh couldn't keep a secret if his life depended on it so I am voting for a complete surprise. He already is calling the new one a boy. We have 2 girls and one boy already.

I'm voting maybe because I would LOVE to be surprised at birth. We found out with dd and ds. I don't know how I'll do it- not finding out. This is a girl who opens her Christmas presents early and wraps them back up before anyone knows :blush :lol . How I earth I can not find out, it is gonna be very difficult for me. I admit it I am the ultimate INSTANT GRATIFICATION poster child :o .We have an 18-20 wk us with our midwife for growth/dev etc. But when I set my heart and mind to something I can do it so I just need to talk myself into it, really feel it ya know :lol .

I would like to wait. I'm not comfortable making gender such a focal point, although I'm sure the curiosity will get to me. As for the clothes, we're going to try really hard not to fall into the 'boy stuff' or 'girl stuff' thing. At least on our end. I know all of that will probably go down the tubes once the child is born and people are buying us gifts. But, it can't hurt to try!

I had my first midwifery appointment yesterday...she was telling me that the local ultrasound WILL tell you at 20 weeks now...and that it would also be one of those new 3D ultrasounds.
I told me hubby that last night & he got all excited & said he definately wants to know.
I'd really love to have a 3D one done...they were'nt available when I had my last baby.
So...I guess we'll wait & see...I thought the surprise would be nice, but DH does not share my view. :lol

I voted yes. I like to sew things and write letters to my unborn baby, I like to talk to them and it helps to know who they are.

I also like to decorate a nursery -- not quite sure why I bother since they always wind up attached to my body for the first year but I guess it's nesting :)

yes, if at all possible. DS hid until an u/s at 36 wks. :lol

I hate secrets and surprises! I can barely keep my pregnancy a secret til christmas!

If we have an ultrasound, we will find out, but we may not have an u/s.

No, I've never had an ultrasound with my other pregnancies, and I'm not about to start unless there is a medical reason to do so.
